Summary
“‘If you’re raised with an angry man in your house, there will always be an angry man in your house. You will find him even when he is not there.’”
The well-known quote Dennis murmured was somehow louder than any scream the two had heard in their entire lifetime.
They were both still, their breathing heavy, when Dennis straightened his back, hands bracing the edge of the counter as he glanced at Jack and Robby’s direction.
“I am the angry man in our house,” Dennis confessed, his smile sad, and the look in his eyes had the two on the cusp of crumbling to their knees.
OR Dennis Whitaker has a difficult time taking care of himself, including learning healthy coping mechanisms, leading him down a spiral. Robby and Jack—already interested in the medical student—decided it’s time they take things into their own hands.

Summary
Dennis Whitaker grew up learning that love could hurt—and that silence was the only way to survive it.
On a quiet farm in Broken Bow, the only place he ever found peace was a hidden lake beyond the apple trees. It was there he met Derek, his first love, a boy who made him believe in something more. In escape. In freedom. In a life beyond the one chosen for him.
But when their secret is discovered, Dennis is forced into an impossible choice—one that will follow him for the rest of his life.
Sent away to be “fixed,” he learns how to bury what he’s done. How to silence desire. How to become someone else.
Years later, he’s still trying to walk the path he was given.
But when he meets two men who make him question everything he thought he had buried— maybe the right path was never meant to be straight.

Summary
When Robby finally goes on sabbatical, Dennis is scheduled exclusively for nightshift. It’s inconvenient, at first, having to take the bus everywhere now that he was completely unaligned with Trinity, but then Dr. Abbot starts to offer to take him home. And then to breakfast before he takes him home. And then just to his own home to sleep instead of his apartment with Trinity. And then, the next thing Dennis realizes, when Abbot kisses him, is that he might be dating Dr. Abbot.

After mere minutes of activation he’s stuck in The Pitt, trying to survive trauma bays, overworked doctors, and the general chaos of human medicine. Will he actuall be of use? What will happen when the android revolution erupts in Detroit, and everything he thought he understood about orders, obedience, and identity gets thrown into the blender?

And when the world starts burning, will our huckleberry stay loyal… or go deviant?Or A Dennis android AU, where our favorite attending is begging to Gloria to Hire more nurses, instead the ED is getting some sort of sentient roomba.
Or Dennis is a Robot. (it has been brought to my attention that this work can be read without knowing anything about Detroit become human. Which is baffling to me, but according to my readers is the case, so try it see if ya like)

Dennis is confident as he finds balance between his work life and home life. But what if he wants part of that work life to be his home life?--_------_--

Especially one intern, who caught his eye rather quickly. After a conversation about relationships and workplace relationships, Robby has to figure out how to navigate a new dynamic. But he's not alone, because Jack mentioned it first so of course, he's going to be the one leading.
Or,
These married guys want to bang the new intern as a way of spicing up their marriage.

"His problem had a name, stupidly big eyes the color of forget me nots and curls so soft they were more or less begging to be swept between somebody’s finger – Michael would have volunteered in a second, if he only could.
But it was out of question, as his problem was half his age and a R1 at the Emergency Department Michael ran – and not a single day in the past year or so had gone by without him cursing the moment when he’d first laid his gaze on Dennis Whittaker. "
Or: the one where Robby actually gets inpatient treatment after the 4th of July shift, and then goes on a shorter sabbatical than planned.
When he gets home, the very R1 he has asked to house sit is in his apartment, knocked out by a fever brought by wisdom tooth woes. Fluff, chaos and eventual smut ensue.Bookmarked by PalePeaches

Summary
They had come to be a highlight of his day, these missives from his boss. They made him feel special, chosen to see Robby’s revival play out in real time, although it was possible Robby was texting others too, maybe Abbot or Dana or Noelle. It had gotten to the point that Whitaker, never the biggest fan of smartphones—of any flashy tech, really—would scramble to retrieve his device from whatever odd shelf or surface he’d forgotten it on the second he heard it buzz. When it was Robby, his expression would involuntarily screw into an amused little grin, scanning the text a few times before deciding how to respond. If it was anyone else, Santos asking about bills, his mother badgering him to visit, he would drop his phone unceremoniously between the couch cushions and ignore the message for hours.
But Robby hadn’t sent one in days—six days, to be exact.
On his way home from Canada, Robby goes radio silent and his favorite resident spirals. When he comes home two weeks before he was scheduled to and finds Whitaker standing half-naked in his kitchen, things get even more complicated. (Or, everyone in Dennis Whitaker's life is falling apart around him, and he doesn't know how to not help.)

“Oh, Trin. That one.” Marissa pointed at him. “That one is pretty.”
The whole table burst into laughter. Dennis went bright red. “Oh, um. Thank you?”
Marissa was already circling him. “Look at this face. These cheekbones. These eyes. You are the most offensively adorable little twunk I have ever seen in my life.” She declared. “Have you ever considered drag?”
Or, the Pitt goes to a drag show and Robby has feelings about seeing Dennis so pretty.

Summary
“Well, just let me know if it keeps happening, especially such severe bleeding. You can’t be too careful,” Robby states, matter-of-fact, in what Dennis has come to recognize as his doctor-voice.
Dennis nods in agreement.
He opens his mouth to speak but is interrupted, as he sees Robby move his foot across the two inches separating it from Dennis’s. They lock eyes as their feet line up against each other, in a small, subtle gesture that neither completely understands. Seconds seem to last for minutes, as the two drink in each other’s faces, holding each other’s eyes in an intimacy that Dennis usually avoids with his superior. Robby’s eyes are a warm hazel brown, framed by soft wrinkles, revealing his age. There’s something so comforting there.
Overcome with a sudden rush of self-awareness, Dennis shifts his gaze to the door and mutters: “Well, I should get back out there.”

“Doctor Robby,” Dennis said, shaking his head, “randomly showing up at the same bar I’m at isn’t interfering. I don't own Pittsburgh’s queer scene.”
Robby’s face pinked, and he smoothed his palm down the short hairs at his nape. “Okay, well, it won’t happen again, and I apologize if I made you feel uncomfortable.”
How many times can Dennis see his boss at the same gay bar before it starts to feel like more than a coincidence?

Summary
Dennis Whitaker was right where he wanted to be.
Well, maybe not with who he wanted to be. He couldn’t help but try to imagine that the hands that were currently gripping at his waist were those big and calloused hands that were squeezing his shoulders a few hours before.
He couldn’t help but imagine that the smooth cheek rubbing against his neck was instead thick with beard, giving just that right itchy feeling that directed his blood right to his—
Not drunk enough then. He needed more.
Or
Dennis just wanted a night out and he never thought he would en up at the ER he worked at with a head laceration, drunk and stuck under the constant checking of his Attending.
