Summary

Summary
Lance had never seen his mother look as happy as she did in that moment. The nurse had left the room, smiling as though she was proud of the damage she had unknowingly caused.
Of course, she'd just been told that her only son had gotten engaged. The news had lit a small beacon of hope in her life that had been shrouded with darkness for the past three years.
Except, Lance wasn't engaged. His "fiance", who was concussed and sleeping in the hospital bed, was actually just some stranger Lance had been pining over for weeks, and just so happened to be in the right time and right place to save his life.

James turned on his heel to swiftly make a retreat, but before he could, Keith rushed over and gripped onto his arm tightly, dark eyes boring into James's. "Why do you hate me so much?" He had asked, his fingers digging into James's arm, determined not to let him escape.
James's eyes flickered to the bruise blossoming on Keith's cheek, like a blotch of ink on paper. His stomach dropped and he felt guilt lodge itself deep within his throat. He struggled to speak, to find an answer that didn't lead him to spilling out his guts between them.
"You have everything I don't," James said, the truth falling out and baring witness for everyone to see

"Who the fuck do you think you are?!" Keith pushed Lance into the wall.
"Lance McClain, singer, songwriter, rockstar," he muttered, the corner of his mouth tilting up. "Who are you? A groupie?"
Keith thought he had the lead singer of 'Paladins' all worked out; he was arrogant, rude, and a complete asshole.
That is, until Keith finds himself stranded out in the middle of the night after yet another argument with his brother and his brother's new fiance. When it's Lance that comes to the rescue, Keith realises that actually, he might not be so bad after all.

Summary
He takes the glass in his hand, liquor spilling out and pouring over his fingers, down the slope of his hand to his wrist. His tongue reflexively finds its way to it, dragging from the bottom up as fumes climb up his nose. No use in wasting it.
Someone clears their throat. “You throw your phone off the balcony?” The voice is unmistakably Lance’s, and it catches him so off-guard that he freezes, tongue stilled against his pinky, and his hand nearly abandons the drink altogether.
How he’d managed to entirely miss the fact that Lance had been standing in the kitchen since he broke the door was way beyond him at this point. What a sight that must have been—him storming inside in a flurry and hastily grabbing the first bottle his hand could fall on. Tunnel vision was a nasty thing. Not much opportunity for keeping up appearances.
He finds the sense to remove his mouth from his hand around the same time he finds his voice, which exits him in an unintentional rasp, “Yep.”
