The trees were shaped in a certain way and the flowers by a meadow were just as pretty. Tommy didn’t bother looking for anyone he recognised, not when he knew that Purpled was dead.

He also has enough of a moral system left, despite all that he's done, to not want a child, and a young one at that, to be hurt. Let alone hurt over what is essentially nothing. So, Regulus damns himself to spend the rest of his foreseeable future keeping Sirius out of trouble.

Inspired by my discord server and unhinged I bring you a time travel (Sort of, fix-it) AU that diverts from my original fic Little Star (How I Love You In All The Wrong Ways) at the end of Chapter 31. Parallax of the moon, in which Remus Lupin gets his sleepy, half-thought wish to have done, have been, to be, better (for his loves and for himself) and is somehow thrown fourteen years back in time, into a past that is much like his but also starkly different.
Mourning the loss of a family so recently threatened on all fronts and only just having gotten to a point where they may rebuild stronger, he now must build a new one, which includes finding companionship in Fleamont Potter, adopting the Black brothers, and fighting off the advances of three horny teenagers (the most angelic of which won’t stop calling him Daddy).. But how long can Remus hold on, when he finds his own mind routinely stuck in the future he misses and his body actively drawn to those of the men around him, aged down to boyhood by the years he’s been sent back?
He’s a strong man, sure, but is he strong enough to reject the love he desperately wishes to have, again?
And can he do better, or does better perhaps include indulgence?

James has been on the outs with Remus ever since the Prank, since Remus mistakenly thinks he took Sirius's side over the summer; all James wants is to put the Marauders back together, but Remus is determined to shut all three of them out. When a mishap in Potions leaves James secretly able to hear Remus's thoughts, he takes it as an unexpected gift, a way to reconnect and finally say all the right things. Is it technically a huge violation of privacy - yes, technically - but he's sure they'll all laugh about this later. It's not like the Marauders have ever had secrets from each other.
Except it turns out that Remus has been secretly carrying a torch for him for years.
And now James is starting to feel some things back, because it turns out you can't learn someone on such an intimate level and not fall a little in love with them.

Being transported back in time only to serve as a mentor to his bratty eleven year old self wasn’t quite how he’d envisioned his future, but at least it’s better than Azkaban.
Oh, and it’d help if his other self could stop falling in love with Harry Potter, too.
