Summary
Jack frowned. “Earlier, I was able to smell something, a thick smell of water is how I’d describe it. I could smell it easily on the gust of wind. Those winds, that smell, the dark clouds. Whenever those things came together, that meant a really tough time for any ship.” He shrugged. “Call it a seaman’s superstition, call it experience. But, we get a lot of ships docking, departing, passing. I have a really, really bad feeling, that the storm will bring us a shipwreck.”

Summary
He thought Hetty was going to stare at him forever. “At first, I noticed Dr Sneed had returned from his forced convalescence a more tender man. At the very end of recovery, trying to relearn how the hospital worked, with the new staff and the few new rules you had put in. We all assumed it’s just how someone acts after, well, getting stabbed. Truthfully though, there is something about healing and resting that makes you face your life. Really sit with it. Sometimes people use the situation to make a change in their lives, maybe find the courage to face something they have been avoiding? Sometimes it makes people thankful. I’ve also seen the opposite. Countless times.” She regarded him carefully. “You are so very restless, Jack Dawkins. I have been praying that whatever you face, as you heal, it helps you find some peace.”
