Summary
By now, Ryuji is used to early morning texts from Yusuke, usually related to art or hanging out that day. This time, however, he’s been asked to come over “as soon as humanly possible” without any other explanation. Something in Ryuji’s chest tightens when he realizes that if this were an actual emergency, Yusuke would have contacted the other Phantom Thieves and their group chat would be blowing up. But no, here Yusuke is, messaging specifically Ryuji.
He heads over without a second thought, hopping out the door while still putting his shoes on.

Summary
There’s nothing all too special to him, there never really has been.
Ennoshita Chikara didn’t think there was much harm in not being all too special, not everyone was destined to stand out from the crowd in a significant way. Everyone was unique, some just stood out more naturally than others and that was ok. He just tried to go on with his normal life as much as possible. He begrudgingly got up for morning practice, went through the school day, worked on homework that would be due the next day during their breaks, attended practice in the afternoon, spent time with his team, and then walked by himself to go home, setting about on doing ordinary things. He didn’t have much going on, he had a pretty normal life, and he was just fine to continue on with that. No one needed a spectacular life in order for it to be fulfilling, and with his studies and volleyball, that seemed like enough.
Sometimes though, he felt normal. Really normal.

The crowd hushed as they spotted Ushijima approaching on the left side of the table, and Kuroo caught sight of Tendou and Matsukawa guarding a spot he assumed was for Ushijima himself. The students drifted back to give him room to sit, right in front of a chessboard with all the pieces lined up and ready to go. Kuroo’s eyes flickered up to the other side of the board to see Ushijima’s rival already seated with a friendly smile on his face.
