Merlin wiped his eyes on his sleeve and looked at her.
"Do.. do you mean it? There is a possibility that Arthur will be saved?"
The Goddess looked sad then.
"Arthur's destiny cannot be altered. Things have been set in motion already," the second Goddess declared. Merlin's heart sank.
"But," the First Goddess interrupted his thoughts. "Magic can do all kinds of wonderful things, if one only allows it to."

Begins at the end of Season 5 Episode 5: The Disir
Merlin made a huge mistake when Arthur asked him for advice before going to talk to the Disir. He realizes it too late, when they see Mordred in Camelot upon return. He immediately runs back to the Disir to beg for a second chance. Fortunately, they take mercy and give him one. A very unexpected and highly inconvenient one.

“Dude, Spiderman was opposite the building again! He’s been there so much recently, I’m starting to think he lives here or something.”
Oscar choked on a french fry, lightly patting his chest and grabbing his drink to wash it down. “Have you thought about the fact that he probably likes the area?”
“No! He goes there with a hoodie and a backpack, he’s probably on his way home or something! Could you imagine? Spiderman could actually live in the flats opposite us!” Lando exclaimed, turning his head to the window and he could slightly see the same building. The world now becoming suffocated by the increasing darkness, the sunset long gone.
Oscar pinched the bridge of his nose, “I think you’re reading into this way too much, mate.”
OR
Lando is obsessed with the friendly-neighbourhood Spiderman and Oscar is his good best friend that listens.

Summary
After rescuing Arthur from a strange (and now wholly impossible) future, Merlin wonders just how much will change. He hasn't told his prince about the intimacies he shared with Arthur's future self; he's overwhelmed enough just finding his footing now that Arthur knows he has magic.
The last thing Merlin needs is to admit his own reckless yearning, when he can't possibly hope this Arthur feels the same.

“I don’t know,” He finds himself staring at another picture. Max is laughing brightly, to the point where his eyes are crinkled, and his mother is smiling too. There is a navy cap on her head: it is a Red Bull cap. Max’s Red Bull cap. “It’s just hard to imagine, I think.”
Pascale looks at him. For a moment it is an odd look. But that quickly melts into a smile. One that is gentle around the eyes, and soft on the mouth. Somehow, it makes Charles feel young again — younger than how he already feels; twenty-one in a world where he is twenty-five.
“You don’t have to imagine it, mon garçon,” she says quietly. “It has already happened.”

"Challenge Accepted."
It's Easter of year six and Harry struggles with visions he's inherited from Voldemort. Dumbledore is reaching the end of his time and needs to ensure someone will take care of Harry after he's gone. An incident in the Forbidden Forest where Snape must care for an injured Harry without using magic sets in motion a chain of events that impacts how the prophecy plays out and brings former enemies to a place of mutual understanding.
Alternative Year Six story that extends into Harry's post-Hogwarts years. Canonical as possible through OotP. (Originally written and posted between November 2003 and June 2005, between books 5 and 6 around movie 3 under the username GreenGecko. This is the 5th edition.) This story can be read as a standalone. It comes to completion without a cliffhanger.
