Summary

Tldr: Animagus Harry happens to be something with useful potion properties. Snape is not above a bit of bribing to add to his ingredient collection... Bonding with Harry over stories of the boy's parents wasn't something Snape planned for. Voldemort got evaporated when Harry was a baby.
Snape had planned only to collect some ingredients for his potions. No more, no less. It was a contractual arrangement at most... and yet Harry Potter of all students is slowly climbing the ranks of his favorite students. Not only is the boy's Animagus form an easy source of rare and valuable material... The boy himself isn't as horrible as Snape assumed. Dare Snape says, he's come to enjoy the young man's company.
It certainly helps there isn't a dark lord he had to plan every action around. If only the other Deatheatrs had disappeared with him...
