Summary
"You know, Doctor," Columbina began, her voice carrying that haunting quality that made the air around her feel thin. "You possess such a staggering amount of pride."
Dottore didn't bother to look up from his work, though the corner of his mouth quirked upward in something resembling amusement. "You just noticed?"
Columbina shook her head slowly, the movement fluid and almost hypnotic. "No. I simply find it... curious. Such a loud display of arrogance from someone who harbors so much self loathing."
The clinking of instruments ceased abruptly. Dottore paused, the sudden silence in the laboratory weighing heavier than the noise had been. "You're very observant."
Columbina offered nothing but a soft, melodic hum, though the sound lacked its usual ethereal detachment.
"Tell me, Columbina is it because you crave to be seen?" Dottore asked, tilting his head slightly.
Or, 5×2 times Dottore healed others and the 1 time he was healed

Summary
Dottore had removed his coat long ago, rolling up the sleeves of his dress shirt to his elbows. His gloves had also long since been set aside; absurdly, the Doctor seemed less likely to wear them when he should have needed them most. Such as when he was digging through the guts of his latest specimen - mechanical or otherwise. But as impractical as it was, it was a quality Childe had always admired about Dottore. He was a very hands-on man, despite how prissy he sometimes behaved. At the end of the day, he was not afraid to get his hands dirty. Childe could see the filth on his hands now as he came a bit closer, smeared with centuries-old, scorched oil and flakes of rust sticking to his knuckles.
Childe swallowed, not sure why it felt so difficult to do so.

“Have you ever wanted kids of your own?”
The pen in Dottore’s hand stuttered over the page once more. He recovered quickly, and the silence following that question only lasted a few seconds.
“Why?” Dottore droned wryly, yet again sounding bored with the conversation. “Were you planning on giving me one?”
Childe eyed his candlelit silhouette up and down. He had a terrible sitting posture, but he still somehow looked good in this kind of light—suddenly, even better than usual. “Maybe.”

Summary
"It chanced that the direction of my scientific studies, which led wholly towards the mystic and the transcendental, reacted and shed a strong light on this consciousness of the perennial war among my members."
A life revealed in segments, with some inspiration from the literary classics of mad science. (A character study of everyone's least favorite Harbinger.)

In progress and likely somewhat slow to update; chapters may be posted out of order until finished but the intent is for each to stand alone in an episodic fashion.

Summary
Anger is easier for Zandik than guilt; namely, the guilt that he has dragged you out here. Anger at the fact his achievements were never recognized over all his years at the Akademiya. Anger that he never even got to complete his second thesis, or obtain the title of Dastur. Anger that this was yet another place where he would not be welcomed, where his views would always be brushed off as heretical -
And then he looks at you, and the anger subsides if but for a split second.

Summary
‘“The insertion point is ready for connection. I’ll be connecting a conduit for elemental energy. You may feel the prosthetic shift. And then—” he trails off. “I don’t know what will happen next,” the Doctor finishes in a voice tinted with restrained wonder.
…Suddenly, Scaramouche is pulsing with … everything. With pure elemental energy, of every type at once, flowing through him in chaotic non-patterns, failing to resolve into sensations he can interpret. He’s buzzing-floating-freezing-burning-quaking-flowing-hurting everywhere, and the overwhelm begins to crest into ecstasy.’
—
Dottore installs and tests Scaramouche’s connection to the Shouki no Kami robot. Scaramouche has an unexpected reaction to the procedure.

Summary
Her silhouette blended with the throne, and yet She was the first thing one saw upon entering. At least, She was the first thing Tartaglia saw, before Her armor, chiseled from the bones of ancient gods, before the snowy garden adorning Her backrest, before the arabesques and frescoes carved into the ice that covered floors and ceilings – even before he opened his eyes, locked on the only place where he felt worthy of facing Her – he saw only Her, etched into his soul, carved into his memories and adorations. He could hear Her smile tinkle like the purest crystal.
"Don't do anything reckless in your excitement."
"Have I ever disappointed you, Madame Zaychik?"
"Never, Zandik. Never."
