That’s when he discovered social media. How being a content creator could be a source of income, easy money in Nagi’s eyes— if it works out, of course. He had considered BlueTube, but editing long videos seemed like it was too much work. He looked into influencers as well, but everything sounded too fake and active for his liking; so he settled for being a streamer. It was the perfect job for him— he could sit at home and just play games all day. There was no need for editing or acting, he had complete freedom.

Nagi finally tears his eyes away from his phone. He blinks at Isagi. Now that he’s looking up, Isagi can see that Nagi really does seem upset. Not wildly so, that would be too uncharacteristic of him, but there’s definitely a crease to his brows that usually isn’t there. Isagi expects Nagi to dismiss his question with a noncommittal response, but to Isagi’s surprise, something else comes out of Nagi’s mouth.
”I miss my boyfriend.”
There’s a lot to unpack there. To think that Nagi would miss someone at all, enough to mope and stare at his phone is a bit surprising on its own, but a bit more pressing than that is the fact that—
“You have a boyfriend?” Bachira blurts out incredulously. Chigiri’s mouth is fully hanging open.
“Oh,” Nagi says. “Yeah, I do.”

He’d seen the way Nagi looked at Isagi, back in the second selection. Reo could still picture it clearly. The moment had been carved into him like a wound, and even now, he couldn’t help but run his fingers over it, again and again, as though that would help him understand it better. As though that would help him understand Nagi better.
It would’ve been fascinating, if it hadn’t been so utterly heartbreaking. Nagi’s eyes, usually glazed with indifference, had sharpened in a way that bordered on awe. There was something raw in the way Nagi looked at Isagi then — not too different from how a person might gaze at the first sunrise after years in the dark. It wasn’t just admiration; it was hunger, fascination, and a spark of emotion that Reo had never been able to coax out of him, no matter how much he tried. To Reo, that look had lingered at the edge of something unspeakable, something irreversible, something Reo could not recognise.

“Oh, is this the new dispatcher you hired?” Nagi asks, but his eyes are already back on his games. “I recognize him. He's that rich guy who shows up on the news.” He tilts his head. “… Why is a Mikage a dispatcher? I mean… doesn't he hate superheroes?”
With a perfunctory smile, he looks down at Nagi. “Well, Nagi, I'm here to inspect the dispatching job within Blue Lock! I want to see just how well the so-called real heroes of the hero world do when they're the ones sending heroes out on missions!”
Nagi blinks, but he still doesn't look as interested as he should be. “Oh, so you're like… an inspector or something?”
“Or something,” Reo replies, keeping his spirits up. “I'm going to be one of your dispatchers! I think.”
After Reo's suit is destroyed after fighting a villain, he is hired by Blue Lock to help dispatch former supervillains who are taking the steps to become heroes. There, he meets the biggest headache of them all, Nagi Seishiro.

The breeder exhaled, clearly trying to hide both panic and relief. “Twenty-five million. That’s the number. Non-negotiable for this… specimen. I assure you, Mr. Mikage, no one else would touch him at this price.”
Reo studied the hybrid through the bars. There was silence, for a moment, tense and heavy, as Reo paused to consider his actions. He knew this was highly unusual for him: he wasn't typically an impulsive person, and his parents would most certainly skin him alive when they found out he'd made a hasty, backend deal with some random breeder, but he couldn't feel more sure of the decision he was about to make. This hybrid was special, and Reo wanted him.
The hybrid stared back at him, seemingly unruffled by Reo’s back and forth with his breeder.
“...Done,” Reo said finally, his voice no louder than a whisper.

The book’s main focus was on a magical academy, which taught magic linked to philosophy, a rather new concept for the young Reo. The characters were set in a historical fantasy setting, complete with princes and knights and peasants.
The academy was called ‘Stirner Academy’, where you follow peasant-turned-ruler Isagi Yoichi discover his magic based on egoism and overthrow the current Empire, ushering in a new era of peace.
And it is precisely in this world, that enamoured an angsty Reo in his rebellious phase, that current-Reo is trapped.Reo Mikage, super-elite heir of Mikage Corporation, currently working directly under his father, doesn't quite enjoy his life.
