Wolfwood moves his leg. As it brushes against some of the endless expanse of leather covering his legs Vash startles again, the pressure letting up with a twitch and a sheepish little sound.
Oh. Now there’s something he’d like to hear again.
A chase ends with Vash and Wolfwood stuck in a hot, stuffy box. Hours of boredom, bad choices, and more-or-less accidental touches follow.

Summary
“When are you gonna fuck me, anyway?” Wolfwood says into the quiet of the room.
He knows it's a mistake as soon as the words are out of his mouth. He's lying on the couch, head on Vash's lap as he absently pets through his hair while reading a book. It had felt, well, a little too much, but Vash had coaxed him into the position. It was nice enough at first, but the cogs in Wolfwood's head won't stop turning. He can feel Vash's legs stiffen under him, the hand in his hair briefly pausing before resuming its gentle petting.
“I can,” Vash says, and it's his goofy one, not the serious voice that makes the hair on the back of Wolfwood's neck stand up, “You're pretty demanding though, for a sub. What brought this on?”

Swinging his legs off the table, Wolfwood stood up and went through the velvet rope and toward the bar. People saw the cross hanging off his collar and steered clear, trying not to even touch him as he snaked his way through the crowd. No one wanted Chapel breathing down their neck over copping a feel off one of his subs.
“Hey, we need another round,” Wolfwood called when he got to the bar. When she nodded to him, that was good enough to be sure he was going to get a tray to precariously walk back over. So he parked himself at the bar and stared at the lines of top shelf booze on display. Sometimes he felt like one of those pretty bottles. No one got to drink out of him but the assholes with thick wallets.
The bartender was setting a beer with a foamy top down in front of a particularly dumb looking guy. He had spikey, blond hair and looked a bit like a cactus. Wolfwood watched him immediately get foam on his nose and bat it off as if it were a bug on his face.
Scoffing, he looked away.
Somehow, because God hates him, the human porcupine heard that. “Hey… Don’t be rude.”

The lapping of water in the tub was driving him crazy. All of the silence had an echo. And Vash’s soft gaze on the floor drove words up from the depths of Wolfwood’s chest and into his mouth. They fluttered out like a flock of birds. “I lived with Chapel. He… Everything I had, I got from him. Before that, there was just the orphanage, and-”
“Wolfwood.” He felt a hand settle on the top of his head. Heat radiated into him from the clutch of Vash’s palm. “It’s alright. You can stay here until you figure things out.”
Sinking far enough into the water that it licked his chin, Wolfwood stared up at Vash. Fingers carded through his hair, pushing strands off his forehead. The glitz of Vash’s smile hypnotized Wolfwood into not worrying about anymore that night.
“I hope that I didn’t…” Vash grimaced that awkward smile which made him look like a guilty golden retriever. “Cross any lines I shouldn’t’ve.”
He splashed some water at him. “It’s alright, blondie.”
Then, quieter, “I’m grateful.”
Vash petted his dark hair, touched the nape of his neck.
“I wanted out. Have for a long time. But I…didn’t think I could ever be.”

Vash is doing his very best sad puppy eyes which is ironic given the situation, but the effect is slightly marred by the fact that he can’t keep the shit-eating grin off his face. “It’s more fun this way!” he chirps, “It’s not too tight, is it?”
Wolfwood tests his restraints again and shakes his head. “Not sure if they’re gonna hold me,” he leers at Vash, who rolls his eyes.

How the fuck does Vash stand it in here, it's absolutely sweltering in the bodysuit and coat, he can feel sweat dripping down his neck and gathering in the collar of the coat. The leather pinches and tugs at him whenever he moves, used to Vash's particular curves and hard edges and punishing Wolfwood for the differences. Vash slides into the alley next to him, hip-checking him with a grin.
“Having fun?” he asks with a grin on his face. Vash, by contrast, looks perfectly at home in Wolfwood's suit and shirt, the buttons done up a few more than Wolfwood would normally bother with. The entire outfit gives him a slightly menacing air not unaided by the devious grin on his face.
“How the fuck I did let you talk me into this,” Wolfwood hisses at him. “My dick is chafing.”
Vash gives him that look again, the slow up and down of his eyes across Wolfwood's body. “I think you'll be fine,” he says, “I'll make it up to your dick later, remember?”

God, Vash has been thinking about this for too long.
It had all started innocently enough, side by side on stools in a crowded, smoky bar like any one of a million nights, but something in the way Wolfwood’s fingers curled delicately to light his cigarette struck something in Vash, watching his knuckles shift under the skin, and he hasn’t been able to get the idea out of his head since then.
