James Potter is messy. He’s reckless, impulsive, and he is a distraction that Regulus should stay far away from.
During a performance, Regulus gets injured and ends up having to spend time with his brother and the marauders on their first North American tour. It doesn’t exactly go as he expected.

A few days ago, it'd have sounded like a dream. But one thing leads to another and Peter's comfortable life splinters and cracks until—finally—he's broken enough to be an Avenger.

Peter looks up at the towering shape above him and resists the temptation to crawl away, back first. His right hand scrapes at the floor, his fingers forming a fist. He can still fight. The thing is massive, though. Its eyes are lit up with a glow that scares the wits out of Peter. The bright triangle on the chest plate hurts his retinas. What the holy fucking shit?!
The head of the suit moves, something staring at him through the eye slits. Two fingers tap on the triangle as the shape leans over him, crouching. Peter jerks, his body in a panic. Away, away. Get the fuck away from this thing.
But then the metal starts shifting—not the shape, but what it's made of. It’s like dust being sucked into a vacuum cleaner. It glides into the triangle, soundless, revealing a man underneath.
“You’re just a kid,” an unfamiliar, surprised voice.
Peter meets Tony Stark. In space, of all places.

The flavor system differentiated types of videos, and each flavor was sorted into a separate file folder for Tony’s review. Vanilla was, intentionally ironically, Stark Porn that happened to catch on one of Tony’s kinks. Strawberry was porn featuring a partner that fit Tony’s type, either in looks or demeanor. Chocolate featured a notable lookalike that played Tony well enough to meet his exacting standards. And so on and so forth.

They didn’t really expect it to go the way it did.
Regulus Black, according to Sirius, is a bit of a cold faced loner who doesn’t look at anyone twice to ever consider dating them. He just isn’t that sort of person.
It was supposed to be funny.
Well, none of them are laughing anymore.
or — james ends up in a relationship with his best friend’s brother because of a stupid dare and starts to fall for him, regulus has been secretly pining over him for years, sirius desperately wants to connect with his brother but goes about it all the wrong ways and through it all, the heavy weight of guilt, making bad mistakes and baring unhealed wounds consumes them all.

Summary

This doesn't make sense. We’re like a fucking book trope. Fake dating, except there’s no motive to date except we are pinning idiots who got drunk one night and came up with a dumb idea. I’m a fucking writer I've read hundreds of books about someone needing a date while being in love with someone and they make a plan. But somehow I’ve done it better, we’re doing this because this may be the only way for them to even bat an eye at our dating lives’ he said breathlessly.
