Vi blinks slowly once. Twice. She waits for the punchline of the joke but nothing else follows Vander’s insane request.
“You want me to apologize to some rich Piltie councilor for blowing up one shabby lab?” He’s got to be kidding. “Why? It’s not like they can’t afford to buy ten more of those. They probably wouldn’t even have noticed if the enforcers hadn’t made such a big deal out of it.”
“You’re not apologizing to Cassandra Kiramman,” Vander sighs and for the first time, Vi can see his age in his wrinkled brow and tired eyes. “You’re going to apologize to their daughter, Caitlyn.”
Vi frowns, “Daughter?” She didn’t know the Kirammans had a daughter. “Why the hell should I talk to their daughter?”
“Because Sheriff Grayson has told me that she’s been in the hospital since your little stunt topside.”
She stops pacing, her feet rooted to the old carpet as her blood runs cold.

She was too busy with school, sports, club meetings, and whatever events her mother dragged her off to. Anything short of perfection was a scandal waiting to happen, and Caitlyn would do everything she could to keep the cameras, and her mother's expectations, as far away from her as possible.

Not the curse it once was- by the 21st century, vampirism had mutated into an inconvenient infection.
Due to their hunger being volatile and, if unsated, potentially fatal for the infected, vampires usually hired a professional "blood bag" to be by their side 24/7 during the months- sometimes years- it took for the illness to pass.
So when Caitlyn catches it, Vi doesn't hesitate to take up the role. Anything to help her best friend until she recovers.

When Maddie insisted the three of them head out for some drinks to relax for a short while after the fight against Ambessa, Vi didn't see why not. To Vi's delight, a very familiar face from Stillwater came to join the group on their night out.
Vi doesn't think she's ever seen Caitlyn so pissed off in her entire life.

She had been professionally trained in marksmanship from a very young age, first picking up a rifle at 10, and winning a surplus of awards and competitions throughout her teenage years. She always strived (and succeeded) to be the top of her class, and had an infatuation with criminal justice—much to her parent’s dismay. Her mother, Cassandra Kiramman, had her properly educated on etiquette, fine dining, as well as financial literacy, which led her to be the star of the show at any ball she would attend. She had a quiet and pleasant demeanor, making conversation only when required.
Caitlyn Kiramman—from an outsider’s perspective—seemed absolutely flawless, with her luxurious lifestyle and radiant appearance.
But—her perfectly curated facade could only stay on for so long. Her protective walls she had built around her broken down by a particular, insufferable, pink-haired girl.
Caitlyn and Vi go through it while I project on Caitlyn and we all try to cope with Arcane being over.
