Vox swallowed, his body tense. "Take care of me?" he repeated. "What are you talking about?"
Alastor stepped away, and his smile became almost radiant.
"I brought you here to be my obedient and precious wife."
The silence that followed was absolute. Vox stood frozen, his screen showing a line of static as his brain processed the words 'Wife' The word resonated in his mind like a discordant bell, unable to find a place to fit.
"What...?" he managed to say, his voice a broken thread "Wife?"
Alastor didn't respond. Instead, he turned toward the wardrobe and opened the doors wide. The interior was full of garments. Soft fabrics, silks, lace, gauze. Dresses, skirts, blouses. And all of it, without exception, was women's clothing. Delicate and revealing.

Friendship in Hell. What a cruel fucking joke.
The falling rain obscures his face in the dirty puddle. It's nearly impossible to see his weeping eye. Nearly impossible to read his expression at all.
A vague plan starts to take shape. Something he should have considered long ago. Alastor had always poked fun at him for wearing his heart on his sleeve, for being so expressive and wide eyed. Well no more. Maybe…never again.

Vox let out a laugh, a sharp and mocking sound that made Alastor's eyes narrow.
