Summary
“Cover me,” Trinity winks before stepping up to the punch bowl. As Mel slips in front of her in a poor attempt at camouflage, she feels a flush travel up her neck from the camera’s position on her chest and bites her bottom lip against a dopey grin. So far, the day had gone exactly as planned, but it’s also been such a blur she’s felt only half-present most of the time. Here in the shadowy corner of Garcia’s garden, though, playing bodyguard for her wedding photographer, she realizes how much fun she could be having, and tries to soak in the feeling. The beginning of a marriage seems like as good a time as any to try living in the moment.
Everything about Mel’s wedding day was turning out perfectly: a small ceremony, a relaxed reception, clear September sun, and a man straight from a movie. Unfortunately, she also ends up with the perfect photographer, which would be ideal if she hadn’t maybe, kind of, immediately fallen in love. An AU inspired by Imagine Me & You (2005).

“Oh, no. Did they over serve you?”
Robin smiles wide. “Nan-cy…” she half-sighs, half-sings. Nancy smiles down at her, tilting her head, just barely holding back a laugh.
“What are you doing out here?”
“Um… you know, it’s unclear… ‘nd it’s a house party, I can’t get over served. What’re you, a cop?”

“Mom’s useless,” Santos mutters. “Dad’s not around.”
“Friends?” Garcia asks expectantly after a beat.
Santos rolls her functioning eye and tries once again to swallow without anything hurting. “Historically—bad at those,” she croaks.
“Color me surprised,” Garcia deadpans, then types again and does a few clicks. “Well, I already have this week off for a vacation that got cancelled last-minute, so you can stay with me for your initial recovery.”
She says it all without batting an eyelash, and Santos tries to remember whether concussions can cause hallucinations.

She laughs when she's mad, all bold and sarcastic before throwing a deserving punch at an idiot who said the wrong words to her at the wrong time.
Right now? She's clutching her arms around her stomach, hoping her laughter would convince and hide the current emotion. Caitlyn's probably scowling at her right now which makes the moment all the while seem natural.
After all, she's laughing at her best friend.

Rain doesn’t say anything for so long that Kay begins to take that for an answer, when she suddenly says, “I do.”
Kay returns her gaze, and for the first time since they’ve woken up, believes her.
Or, after Andy and Rain manage to rid themselves of the xenomorphs and return to the Corbelan, where Kay is, they go to sleep and wake up nine years later. Kay also never takes the compound.
