"You sure about this?” Pike asked as Ilya made it to the door.
The scent was so strong here it felt like Ilya was walking through a cloud of aerosolized candy. It felt sticky on his skin, in his hair. Ilya could feel the warm flush on the tops of his ears, across his cheeks. He blinked a few times, letting the beta’s words sink in. “Yes, fine,” he growled back.
Thankfully, it didn’t seem like Pike was affected at all, thanks to his scent-blind beta nose. “So… there’s no easy way to say this,” the man said nervously. “The guys totally fucked up.” He handed over a plain black wallet.
Ilya opened it, found the Boston College ID card and pulled it out. A handsome Asian boy looked back at him. He had short black hair, warm golden skin, and dark eyes. There was a shadow stretched across his cheeks, something Ilya couldn’t quite make out in the tiny picture. Shane Hollander, the card read. Sophmore.
“How the hell do they make this mistake?” Ilya half-shouted. He snarled again, fought against it, got his face under control. “Fuck.”
“Yeah,” Pike agreed. “Fuck.”

Summary
Shane doesn’t know why he chose to move to Boston to join the Raiders after his hellish stint playing for the Metros. He had a long laundry list of reasons why Boston was the right fit for him: they were a legacy team, it was a good city, a good hockey-loving city, where he could settle down and start to build his life, it was only a short plane ride away from his parents, the list goes on. He thinks his mom even believed some of them. He couldn’t deny, though, not to himself, at least, that Boston’s star center had a little bit to do with that decision.
Shane transfers to Boston early in his career after he finds himself at the center of a scandal with the Metros. Boston gives him a chance to start over, to build the professional hockey career he always dreamed of, but the transfer doesn’t come without its fair share of problems, especially since Boston is home to his on-ice rival, Ilya Rozanov.
The two become unlikely friends when Shane agrees to help him practice his English, bonding as they start to share bits of their respective cultures.
There are some things about Rozanov, however, that Shane doesn’t quite understand. -

Summary
After SunShane SPF50 leaves him with the worst breakout, Ilya does what any reasonable person would do: he leaves a one-star Amazon review and a complaint on Reddit demanding a refund. However, instead of a refund, he gets a reply back from the company's polite and handsome CEO Shane.
Or: One angry Reddit post leads to Instagram stalking, horny DMs, getting stuck in a one-bed hotel room, and an Italian wedding.

Summary
Finally, something dawns on him, a way to handle two goals simultaneously. He’d seen Hollander’s mother flipping through papers rapidly when they first got here, seeming calm and in control and more than a little frightening in a way that made Ilya mildly glad he wasn’t one of the people responsible for a clipboard. If anyone can tell him if the long list of “Prohibited Items” he’d been sent in his email a few days ago is just standard practice for big shoots, it would be Yuna Hollander.
Or, hopefully, her son.
“Crazy we cannot even have peanut butter, eh?” He asks. “You also got giant list?”
Hollander stiffens, almost imperceptibly, and Ilya tilts his head, just slightly, confused, wondering if he’s stumbled somewhere unexpected.

It was no secret that Shane Hollander loved one thing and one thing only, which was hockey. He spent his free time reading hockey books and watching game tape. He had an entire synthetic rink built at his cottage. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of every hockey stat from the modern era. It was so obvious - the reason he hadn’t fallen in love yet was because he needed to be with another hockey player, someone who cared about the game just as much as he did. Or, at least, almost as much as he did. Hayden didn’t know if there was anyone in the universe that loved it as much as Shane.
And, thankfully, there were twenty-three professional women hockey players in their city!! Sure, that didn’t sound like a lot, especially when you factored in how many of them were probably single, but it was better than nothing! Now he just had to figure out how to get Shane to spend some quality time with the Victoire players. How hard could that possibly be?
