When Izuku turns his head his nose gets buried into the fur lining. Izuku's eyes flutter close when the scent of burning cedarwood, sweet yet smokey. It fills his senses and makes his inner omega pur.
He has /never/ smelled an alpha like this.
Izuku's eyes open and he watches at the traveler alpha's back as he heads into the woods with red ears and pack slung over one shoulder. He doesnt turn around to look at Izuku, he doesn't /even/ say a word.
Izuku pulls the cape off his shoulders and clutches it to his chest. He stands there staring even long after the alpha is gone. Those around Izuku whisper but he can't hear them over the thunderous beat that is his heart.
He has never participated in the runs before but why does he have the urge now?

Right. The file. The file CPS handed to them after they applied to foster Hitoshi. The file that is thicker than Shouta wants to think about. The file he started to read and then had to stop shortly after because reading about all of the accusations and the sometimes only thinly veiled abuse Hitoshi had to go through had made him sick to his stomach.

Shouta could hear her, but he wasn’t sure he’d be able to answer if he tried. It was like there was something lodged in his throat, preventing speech and making it hard to breathe. There was still adrenaline from pain and panic thrumming through his veins, still blood staining his hands and making his hair stick to his neck, but it was fading and was quickly benign replaced by a sense of overwhelming dread and pain.

Izuku becomes a vigilante after almost dying, why? He doesn't know-
Library's are amazing, they're quiet, calming, have endless amount of books, and best of all - computers - he got his phone taken away so they're his go to place if he wants to chat with his friends, online one's of course, people online can be shitty but these guys adore him, Izuku assumes it's only because they don't know he's quirkless - but oh well, he doesn't have to tell them anyway.
He has a Twitter account where he rants about heroes, shares his analysis notebooks, makes friends, and he doesn't have to worry about getting hurt - other than mentally, and he was able to block Katsuki before he could do anything to destroy his chances of getting friends.
School sucks and he mostly just doesn't go- Inko, his 'mom' doesn't pay much attention to him so it's not like she'll find out.
Also, there's a underground hero that he keeps running into- he looks kinda familiar..

One second he was gripping the fire escape, and the next he was crashing to the pavement below. The drop wasn't life-threatening, but the impact sent jolts of pain through his spine.
A painful groan escaped Shouta's lips, his body longing to curl into itself for protection but frozen by fear of making any potential injuries worse. His mind swam through a fog, limbs heavy and unresponsive as if weighed down by invisible chains.
His coworkers were going to have a field day with this once they found out. That was, if they found him at all. The thought churned a sick twist of panic in his gut as his vision blurred further, the stars above him smearing into meaningless streaks of light. In his feverish state, Shouta couldn't remember if he'd told anyone where he was going tonight.
Or, Aizawa Shouta is a stubborn idiot whose logic goes out of the window when he's knee-deep in a fever.
