When Clark met Bruce, he didn’t think much of the man. Well, no. He’d had thoughts—a lot of them having to do with his chiseled jaw and broad shoulders—but he hadn’t seen past Batman’s dark, gloomy, unknowable persona.
The man—barely a young adult when they met—had been polite and deadly efficient, but also cold and distant.
Clark, a journalist at heart, wanted to know more about him, but Superman understood how precious secrecy and privacy were. So… He gave Batman some space.
It took him years to discover the man’s civilian name. And it just so happened to be around the same time both men started getting closer. Or it was maybe the reason why they got close at all.

Batman’s marriage proposal was sudden and…strategic.
Once they’ve spent some time together, Batman talks Superman into marrying for a mission. A mission that Bruce declares to be entirely selfish which he needs for business purposes. This mission isn’t supposed to be impactful to either of their personal lives.
It starts when Bruce releases pictures of Batman proposing to Superman. He didn’t need more than a distraction and if it hadn’t been for an intervention from their family and friends, it wouldn’t have been. The more involved their blended family gets into their relationship, the more that they are supported in their relationship.
