I know this little one can’t replace what I lost, but he’s lost just as much as I have. I feel like StarClan is guiding my paws.”
Maplestar dipped her head, accepting Morningfrost’s decision. “Very well, you will be responsible for the kit.”
“What?” Duskcloud snapped, rounding on their leader. “So you’re going to let this kittypet be raised like a ShadowClan kit?”
Her amber eyes looked tired… no, more than tired. Weary. “There’s been enough tragedy in ShadowClan this leaf-bare without adding this kit’s blood to it as well. The kit stays.”
