Kai just hums again, keeps cutting, keeps working, keeps smiling, like nothing’s wrong, like everything’s fine, like Jay isn’t watching himself in the mirror and realizing, slowly, terribly, that the thing staring back at him is still just a little too slow, a little too still, a little too something else. And the worst part, the absolute worst part, is that it’s smiling. Just slightly.
And the words he says next, he’ll blame on exhaustion, on tiredness, on isolation and the hunger that beats at him and crawls up his windpipe. “Am I too far gone?”

Morro killed himself.

Lloyd's entire life has been dictated by his destiny, by his title of the Green Ninja. Even before the Golden Weapons lit up around him, the reason his own mother had abandoned him at Darkley's when he could barely read and write was because she was researching the prophecy. And this was a life he rarely questioned nor fought against; though he did have doubts after the back-to-back deaths of his father and during the entire Emperor Garmadon incident, any of those doubts had either been disappeared or shoved deep down after he met with the First Spinjitsu Master.
But, despite the fact that he is the Green Ninja, the son of Garmadon, and the grandson of the FSM, he's still just a kid. And, just like any normal person, there's only so much he can take after so many years of trauma and grief.
So, Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon decides to do something about it.
