A loud crash echoed throughout the castle, practically shaking the ground they were standing on.
They were, reasonably, startled.
"D-Did that come from outside?" Bucken-Berry asked, trying (and failing) to control his voice, as another crash echoed.
"Maybe the party started already?..." Ala-Gold pondered.
The festival was supposed to have a party, complete with minigames, arranged by Mario himself, and god knows that Mario's idea of partying could lead to some commotion...
But... Surely Mario would've come into the castle first to say hi to them, or at least Peach.
Just then, the entire castle shook and tilted back and forth, a horrible crunching sound echoing from below as it sounded like the castle itself was ripped from something...
Now they were more than a little alarmed.
Bucken-Berry raced over towards the nearest window, and gazed out of it.

Early into his plan to gain LV, Sans fails an attempt to kill Flowey, and Flowey gets the upper hand and interrogates him over what the heck he's doing.

Flowey was just kinda there, in his usual spot at the start of each reset, staring up at the ceiling, thinking about someone...
When he suddenly felt a searing pain, and watched a bone fly through him.
He quickly ducked underground in reaction, and burrowed to other parts of the room, poking out to see what was going on.
It was Sans. The heck was HE doing there?
Regardless, Flowey had an easy way to deal with him after so many resets.
He threw a few pellets at him half heartedly, and watched Sans dodge them effortlessly.
"come on, try a little harder than tha-"
He cut Sans off by causing vines to smash up out of the ground and wrap him up, restricting any movement and lifting him into the air.
At the same time, he course corrected the pellets, and sped them up, causing them to crash right through Sans' skull before he could even think of teleporting out of the vines.
"Heehee..."
Flowey raised out of the ground, a big grin on his face.
"What an IDIOT."

He didn't know where his brother was. He figured he was probably off on some big adventure without him again, but in that specific case, he was totally fine with being left out.
He'd rather not deal with the whole "stranded in another world" stuff, because the more that he thought about it, the more scared that he was.
What caused him to get sent there? Was anyone else there with him? Would he ever get to go home?
Those thoughts gave him too much anxiety, so he just tried to keep his mind clear, and focus on the music...
...until he heard voices.
"Huh? Is that really Luigi? Doesn't he look kind of flat?"

The Trio was exploring a building together, when out of nowhere, something got Paper Mario really excited.
Mario and Luigi watched in confusion as he ran over to a normal old pair of scissors, and excitedly tossed it up into the air, holding it in a presenting fashion like it was an important item.
Mario and Luigi approached him, a bit hesitantly, and stared at him in confusion.
Noticing their stares, Paper Mario explained that it was a Thing, a very powerful item in his world, capable of cutting up all enemies in a battle.
"But... That's-a just a normal pair of-a scissors." Mario pointed out.
"Yeah... I thought everything in the book was-a paper?" Luigi added.
Paper Mario explained that Things are some of the only things in his world that aren't paper, and that they were so rare, even his main ally of that adventure didn't know what to make of it.

"D-Do we really have to-a use... t-that?" Luigi stuttered, feeling VERY uncomfortable with the state of the bridge...
A gust of wind blew by, and caused the entire bridge to swing violently, and one of the planks to fall into the ocean below.
"It'll be fine! Let's-a go!" Mario said without a care in the world, walking off onto the bridge, the violent crunch and creak of the bridge the moment his boot hit the wood causing Luigi to cringe.
