Halsin has every reason to hate Drow. From his time in the Underdark to Minthara’s “hospitality” at the goblin camp, they’ve brought him nothing but pain. So imagine his surprise—and confusion—when his savior from said camp is none other than a Drow. He tries to be civil, he really does. After all, she’s not quite like the others. She’s not sadistic, conniving, or bloodthirsty like those he’s known. Logically, he knows she had nothing to do with what happened to him all those years ago—but trust is harder to build than resentment.
Vyssira is nothing if not a survivor. She survived Menzoberranzan. She survived her parents’ cruelty. She survived Baldur’s Gate. Summary
Camila Noceda is many things. Veterinarian, daughter, sister, wife. But she is first and foremost a mother.
And a mother notices things.
A mother notices how Luz keeps turning as if to look at someone who's never there. A mother notices when Willow and Gus are clearly trying to hold everything together, because she has done the same for years. A mother notices how Hunter jumps away from close proximity and Amity shuts herself up in places no one can find.
And then there are the adults.
At least there are only two of them, in comparison to five teenagers. But Alador and Darius come with their own baggage, and are better at hiding it than even the children.
But she does notice how Alador flinches at loud noises and always cuts himself off, and how Darius pretends to be a vapid fashionista when he can't hide behind his armour.
Camila Noceda is a mother, and she is going to try her damned hardest to keep her people safe.

Between picking up the pieces in the wake of the Day Of Unity and its aftermath, reconnecting with Raine, helping King come to terms with his newfound identity and being there for Luz as she navigates a life split between the Boiling Isles and Connecticut, Eda Clawthorne has a lot on her plate.
Taking on another, seemingly-impossible project at this point, especially one that seems particularly ill-advised, is probably not the wisest decision. But then, Eda has never been one to take the easy path in life.
And she made a promise.

Belos, Raine thinks, is the one that haunts them the most. Belos was all-consuming. Belos was utterly unhinged, a mere spectacle of a man, nothing but a shadow. He hadn’t cared about the body he was haunting, hadn’t cared about Raine until they’d almost outlived their usefulness.
