It had been confirmed numerous times by many of Peter’s loved ones, as well as many reputable sources—like Dr. Cho—and less reputable ones—like Tony Stark—over the course of the last few months. It was something that, deep down, everyone already knew. Even those still in denial were unable to completely convince themselves otherwise.
The fact is, absolutely no one was surprised. Not completely, anyway.
Or, after months and months of trying to convince people that he is healthy and well, people finally start to take Peter seriously.

There is only so much time one can spend as the newly minted-king without wanting to smack every single person around them, and if this captain of the guard doesn't leave Regulus alone there will be worse consequences than a light slap. And good god above, what does he wash his hair with? He smells like a damn meadow with those stupid, wild, attractive curls of his.
Every king needs a lionheart, as that one song goes, but stubborn kings don't, and Regulus will die on that hill.
