They were out of The Abyss. They didn’t know how particularly they had escaped, but they had.

The Vessel opens her eyes. Where was she? She swiveled her horned head from side to side, before realizing that her memory had come to an end. She was back on the top of the world, where all one could see in the distance was a small, well lit town. The light had begun to dim recently, and there seemed to be less travelers passing by her little encampment, an abrupt stop happening only a few days prior.

So, like any bug with a hard shell and the mind of a maggot, she jumped down the cliffs, heading to the world beyond.

Summary
For just a moment, Xero's assumption led him to trust that the curved white horn was indeed the tusk of a dirtcarver.
So imagine his surprise when he found himself staring face-to-face with the mask of a child.
He truly didn't know what to think, the child now having paused its twisting into the wall. If it was unsure of whether to retreat into the dark crevice it was digging, run, or even bite him, Xero had no way to tell.
"Hello, little one. Are you lost?"
It said nothing. It didn't react whatsoever. It just continued to stare.

Summary
Things… change.
Ghost supposes that many would probably say that they get better. They do get better, don’t they? Yes, they do. Things change, and they are better. The Infection is gone, and Hollow is safe, and Hornet is happy, and so Ghost is fine. Perhaps they are selfish, and they mourn a dying world that they can never return to, and they are more alone than ever before, but they’ll get over it.
…And it’s not as if anyone will notice if they don’t.
Ghost goes back in time, kills the Radiance, and sets everything right. They tell no one, and do it on their own. It is only after their family is happy, and the kingdom is safe, and the Abyss is soothed to sleep, that they realize just how lonely it is as the last remaining piece of a future never to be.

The Teacher’s Archives are, for the most part, deserted. Few of the staff resides within the Archives, after all, and those that do are currently out and about on one errand or another. This is not an accident.
The only observers there are to this particular project are the Teacher herself, and various free-floating oomas and uomas—and neither of the latter will talk.
One way or another, the Dreamers are doomed. Monomon the Teacher knows this. She can be satisfied with remaining in the Dream Realm for eternity, should the Hollow Knight be successful- but if they are not? The seals must break, then. And Monomon is not about to die for nothing.
She'd prefer not to die at all, if that can be avoided.

Summary
The return of Radiance would take longer than expected, but the king would have taken precautions, he had created the pure Vessel, the hollow knight, but with that, he also ended up creating a surplus of other vessels without purpose. During his wait for the Radiance to return, he gave each vessel a purpose, but one of them didn't seem to fit with anything he offered. With time even he began to forget about the Radiance, and went on as the king of Hollownest, not knowing that slowly the Radiancie would return but not in the way he expected.
