I will not let that stand.”
The Director regards him impassively, hands steepled together in front of his face.
“An interesting observation, Mr. Edgeworth,” he says, eventually. He lets out an exhale, then pushes himself up in his chair. “Though quite a lot for only one person to handle on their own, surely.” He cocks his head, and offers Miles the barest hint of a smile, eyes sharp. “Why don’t we pair you with someone that can help split the work?”
He, as Miles already suspects, is not talking about Detective Gumshoe.

After completing Papyrus' fifth puzzle, Aliza was just trying to get used to living with the skeleton brothers and keeping herself alive in a world that wanted just the opposite. Every action had its corresponding consequence, and Aliza certainly wasn't expecting to find tentative allies in Sans and Papyrus, especially not when relations with Queen Undyne and the state of the Core kept getting continuously worse.
Nevertheless, it seemed a small gift, a little understanding, and a lot of empathy on her part went a long ways when it came to a Monster as confusing as Sans.

Summary
Sans has finally managed to fix the reset issue. It only required the deletion of a vital character. The barrier is broken, and time finally begins to move again. Recovery is slow, but Sans finds solace in his dreams. By the time he realizes his dreams of other universes are real, he has already grown attached to their residents. And then he's attacked at home and is thrust into the multiverse proper. He finds things very different from how he expected. His old friends don't recognize him, and some of them appear suspiciously older.
It doesn't take long before Sans starts to suspect that he may have a larger role in the multiverse than he predicted.
I wanted more Classic adventures through the multiverse, so here's my contribution. And cause I'm me, I can't help but try to make a saga out of it.
