With a soft exhale, Shen Qingqiu opens his eyes and stares a little longer at the lotus blossom. Then, before he can think better of it, he plucks the blossom from its stem and reaches behind himself, carefully weaving it into the braid he’s tied his hair back in for this trip.
Hands falling back to his sides, Shen Qingqiu fails to see the way the lotus woven into his braid pulses with a gentle, white glow until its rhythm matches the steady beat of his heart.

Shen Qingqiu has an encounter with a very special flower that grants him a very special wish, one that he doesn't even know he's made.

Now Binghe is extra confused as his teacher who was right in the midst of telling him he was a monster was now fussing over a mere flesh wound. His heart is doing flips in all kinds of ways now!
