Summary
The study reasserted itself - exactly as it always was, and yet somehow thinner and inadequate. The shadows in the corners seemed darker. The air felt colder against his face. The silence of the Manor pressed back into place like a lid.
He straightened slowly, one hand resting flat against the desk to steady himself.
His mind went searching again for an explanation, but it skidded over the same bare facts and found nothing to catch on.
Two strands. Two scenes. Hermione Granger, in both.
He should destroy it.
He knew, with the same cold clarity with which he knew the proper order of cutlery, that he ought to take the basin and overturn it into the fire, watch the strands evaporate, and be done.
He did not move.

Mr. Snape was reported missing late last week after venturing beyond the castle grounds after curfew.
The Headmaster expressed his condolences, describing the loss as “a tragic reminder of the perils that lie beyond the safety of the school.”

Summary
Hermione meant to go back to the night Severus Snape died.
Before the blood and silence and all the truths learned too late.
Instead, the Time-Turner shatters.
Hermione falls nearly thirty years into the past and lands in Spinner’s End, where Severus Snape is not yet a spy, a professor, a murderer, a hero, or a dead man.
He is nine years old.
Thin, furious, brilliant, half-starved, and already expecting the world to hurt.
Stranded in 1969 with no way home, no legal identity, and no idea how much damage one misplaced kindness might do to history, Hermione finds herself with Aunt Vera’s spare room, a broken Time-Turner, and a child who does not know how to be helped.
There will be tea. Laundry. Drying charms. Butterbeer. Mistakes.
And slowly, Hermione begins to understand that saving Severus Snape may have very little to do with the night he died.
Author’s Note: This is eventual HG/SS, but the romance is a very late-story development. The early and middle sections focus on Hermione stranded in 1969, young Severus, found family, healing, and timeline changes. There is no romantic dynamic while Severus is a child.

“They don’t know you’re bisexual. I understand, Dean.”
“Just—just for a little while,” he says quietly. “If we could keep it behind closed doors, or when they’re not around. Just until I figure out how to tell them. I just need time.”
“Dean.” Cas’s voice is soothing through the phone. “You don’t have to explain yourself to me."

Summary
Sam hasn't noticed anything off about Dean and Cas struggles not to tell him. This is a task more difficult than awaiting the seventh day above of Jericho, but the angel knows that protecting Dean means protecting the part of Dean that is still alive inside of Sam. A part that Dean rarely allows to mutate into a mirror image. Cas has yet to convince Dean that Sam's vision of him matching reality does not mean he has failed as a parent.

Summary
In which Amara doesn't bring back Mary, she brings back John Winchester.
Dean is uncertain what Amara's meaning is when she brings John back, and struggles with coming to terms with the new family dynamic. Sam tries harder to keep the peace than he used to, and Cas does not get along with John at all- though he tries. Testosterone is at an all-time high as these four men struggle to coexist in the hunting world with very different ideologies.
We explore just how much the brothers have changed in the ten years without their father's guidance, the trauma they still haven't resolved, and the feelings that Dean and Cas hold for one another despite the very real and new barrier that is John.

Hermione remembered her single visit there, years before, for a legal inspection: the air itself felt wrong, heavy, as though grief floated in it like fog. She had lasted forty minutes before her hands began to shake - and it had taken nearly two hours afterwards to steady her breathing.
She pictured him there. Confined among hundreds whose every breath carried terror and regret - and feeling it all. Not metaphorically, but actually feeling it - as a deafening sound. As physical pain - without pause, without shelter.
The thought made her stomach clench.
