As someone whose intro to fanfiction as a concept was through Undertale when it was fresh, this story has single-handedly changed my standards for stories of this genre. Unbelievable. Binged it all and let out a big scream. Hurt and warmed my heart in turns. Excellent pacing and just enough detail. An incredible blend of plot with reckoning with the emotional repercussions of a “grimdark” past without wallowing in it, and healing without losing sense of what fundamentally makes a person who they are, while still making it interesting to read. Never felt like it went overboard or minimised things, which is hard to do for such an extreme background. Excellent with working from a limited, unreliable point of view, things were allowed to go over the narrator’s head for the reader to guess at, which I haven’t seen too often recently. Emotionally satisfying, hopeful conclusion while still making it hurt. No one there was perfect, not even the love interests, and that made it even more fulfilling to realise that the “good guys” are also working with limited perspectives and flaws. Realism not pessimism type beat. Despite everything, from beginning to end, it really felt like it was still Hyacinth. Instant classic. Finesse.

Travis Hart was reborn with his memories intact. Not into a main character in an anime or something fun like that. Instead, he was reincarnated into a normal, impoverished family in America, over twenty years before the last time. He could never make sense of this fact. It didn't seem to be a different universe, nor could he see any grander purpose for his new existence.
So, he tried to make himself one.
When that failed, he drank until he woke up in Australia regretting life.
Regret, which only worsened when the plane home broke into pieces midair and he got stuck with a bunch of squabbling idiots on a mystical island. At the very least there was a surgeon there. And this one wasn't as much of an asshole as the other ones that Travis had known.
Now if he could just convince the redneck bastard to share his cigarettes, then maybe everything might turn out okay.

It hasn’t even been one day since getting to the station and Izuku has somehow managed to find himself careening into the endless abyss that is space in a small pod he doesn’t know how to fly. Oh, look, aliens, maybe they’ll… or maybe they’ll just lock him space prison… At least he’s not alone, not that he knows any Common yet. Why does everyone seem so tense?
Follow Izuku as he tries to navigate through space and the many aliens and obstacles that inhabit it! We have familiar faces such as obligatory cat-alien Dadzawa and his bird-alien mate DadMic! Re-explore themes such as language barriers and Humans being BAMF from Space Australia! This work is inspired heavily by other MHA stories in the "Humans are Space Orcs" tab, but I hope to bring some originality to the community as soon as Izuku can make his way off the alien pirate ship!
