Years ago, Vos fell to Praxus in a conflict that nearly resulted in planetary war. The entire Vosian royal family was killed, but rumors persist to this day that a Prince of Vos still lives. None of that really matters to Detective Jazz, though, except that a body just showed up in his territory with some curious words scrawled on the wall behind the corpse. And for some reason, his secretary Starscream is acting more surly than usual.

Starscream’s fangs caught the light when he grinned. “Yourself. What else? Convinced of your purpose here. Convinced of your right to keep on living. Convinced that you’re so desirable all you had to do was offer up some mediocre platitudes polished off with a kiss, and you’d have me shouting your designation again in your berth.”
[An AU in which instead of being sent to prison, Starscream follows in Megatron's footsteps and seeks exile aboard the Lost Light. To everyone's surprise, it's not Megatron he's there for.]

This is normal. This is all perfectly fine. Sure, Megatron's been more unpredictable than normal lately - more easily angered, almost as if he's only waiting for the slightest excuse - but it's fine. Starscream's been through worse. This isn't what's going to break him.

Starscream has finally taken a leap of faith and became the most famous turncoat the Decepticons ever had, joining the Autobots in every aspect besides name, and—generally, vaguely, by a very tiny margin borne only of having to choose between two horrible options and one deadly one—is doing alright.
Unfortunately, his decision brought with it a few unexpected(-ish) consequences; both internal and external.

Skyfire is horrified by what greets him when he is finally released from the arctic ice and thus becomes instantly done with everyone. Confronted with a conjunx that has become a manic shadow of himself and factions that seemed more then content to bash themselves into extinction; Skyfire summons what patience he has left and vows to bring his conjunx back to his side by any means possible. As Skyfire navigates the potential minefield of trying to seduce Starscream he gains both allies and enemies alike as he tries to eek out any hope of happiness in this bitter war. Skyfire, a mech who does his best to do good, is done with being a pushover and is prepared to fight back.
The means will justify the end, even if he must break his Seeker a little to get him to heal. For both of them to heal.

Summary
Starscream of Vos, entirely against his will, has been promoted to the crown prince and is next in line to become the Winglord after many an unfortunate circumstances had resulted in the rest of Lord Ozone’s next-of-kin to be rendered ineligible for the throne.
With any hope of a career in the sciences thoroughly dashed, Starscream is only further incensed by the revelation that, along with a title he never wanted, he is also expected to fix the long-simmering tensions between Vos and Iacon in the only method they’ve left to try: Political bonding.
Hopefully Starscream's trine can convince him to abstain from murdering his elected suitor long enough to avoid a planet-wide war.

Summary
Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp are some of the first decepticons on Cybertron. Starscream's not in it for all the right reasons, but he is in it, and a new world order would suit him just fine if he could rise to the top of it. His lofty plans are for nothing. Starscream and his trine never come back from a mission and are assumed dead, hunted down by the autobot council.
It is a surprise, then, to find them frozen in stasis three million years later, after the explosion of the great war and the fall of Cybertron. The decepticon cause has changed around them, and so have Megatronus and Orion Pax.

The area was swarming with autobots-- where was he?-- and Starscream, hiding, searched desperately for a familiar face. He tugged on the trine bond, but no one tugged back. The connection felt dead.
There! In the distance, Starscream spotted a familiar boxy frame, the red and blue paintjob shining bright against dull, faded glacier.
Primus, that's Megatronus's mech! Starscream thought. Orion Pax was little else-- he wasn't even a decepticon, only some wishy-washy affiliate, and he couldn't fight because he didn't believe in harming so much as a scraplet. What is he doing here?

Summary
In Starscream’s honest (and very humble) opinion, this was one of the worst days of his life.
And that’s against some very steep competition, you know! Millennia upon millennia of having the worst luck known to Cybertron and beyond really lends itself to a never-ending stream of horrible events that all culminate into an ever-present world-weariness and severe paranoia, all channeled into one (unfortunately small) seeker.
Today in particular, though, seemed to deviate from his usual pattern of bad luck, in the form of an irate Autobot.

Or Drizzt goes into heat in front of the poor company of the renegade drow mercenary Jarlaxle, and assassin extraordinaire rival Artemis Entreri.
OR no one was going to write the omega Drizzt fic i wanted so i did it instead of sleeping.
