Katara and Aang have broken up again, and the Northern Water Tribe are pushing for a match between the North and South.
Which leads Zuko and Katara to develop a genius, foolproof, only slightly drunken plan: they can pretend to date for the length of Katara’s stay in the palace, giving them both a brief reprieve from political pressures on their love lives.

The lofty space echoes with the tapping of her fingers against a keyboard. His vision blurs- the lights brighter against his eyes.
“He’s in the Intensive Care Unit, room 145.”
Hizashi moves as soon as the room number reaches his ears. “Thank you-”
“Wait a minute, sir!” Hizashi catches himself- turns back to her. “You can’t go to his room like that. He’s just recently come out of surgery.”
The woman looks him up and down, her eyes trailing from the tip of the tousled hair on his head down to his sodden boots. It isn’t until then that he notices the tickle of loose hair against his neck and dampness of sweat-soaked leather that suctions to his body. His uniform is in shambles, caked in dirt and blood. Two days of search and rescue did it no kindness.
“Geez, I-” When he takes a step back, his boot leaves a smear of brown on the shining linoleum tile.

“Um. We – we were walking to a café.” Hitoshi tells him. “After training, remember? You wanted me to practice using my capture scarf to move faster. We spent a few hours at UA in ground Gamma. His damn class keep getting into trouble. Every time they're hurt, he has to make the journey down to the hospital to sign paperwork and sit outside the room to wait for them to be discharged. It's a pain. It makes him anxious. It gives him headaches. He just wants a nap.
Unfortunately, someone has other ideas. Hizashi Yamada, a patient at the hospital, turns up every time to keep him company. Hizashi is smarter than he looks - and he might just be smart enough to help save some of Shouta's precious kids. Shouta can't help it if he starts to find the man endearing.
But Hizashi is keeping something from him. Hizashi never leaves the hospital.
Something about this situation... isn't right.
