Summary
Beacon Hills has never been the most normal of towns, but recently things have been happening that are getting harder and harder to explain. And it's becoming more difficult to keep the supernatural a secret when something newer, darker and scarier comes to town in the shape of a teenage girl. But she is only the beginning to their problems. And what she brings with her is the worst this town has seen in a while.
“What’s so bad about getting a ride in this?” Derek sounded like he was smiling, but as beautiful and unbelievable as that sounded, Stiles still refused to look at the man, “It’s a good car.”
“Overcompensating?” Stiles ridiculed, knowing perfectly well that there was no way Derek wasn’t packing something impressive.
“I think we both know that’s not true,” Derek was smirking when Stiles finally turned to him, if only in shock by the werewolf’s statement.
“I think we both know there is no way I could know that,” Stiles winced at how bitter he sounded, but once it was out, there was no point in trying to suck it back up.

The demogorgon hangs midair, clawed hand extended towards Mike. Its flower-petal face opens wide, showing rows of razor-sharp teeth that drip with saliva, and it almost seems to be shaking, like it’s pushing against something, something that’s holding it back.
Will.
For a split second, Mike doesn’t recognise him. His eyes are rolled back, revealing pure white, and he holds himself with an unfamiliar confidence. His hair is slightly damp, and he seems to almost glow under the lights of the bright fire burning behind him.

“Yeah… uhm," Mike seemed to be stalling, "Why don’t you?”
Will frowned. “Why don’t I what?”
Another pause.
“Why don’t you settle down?”
“Because, Michael,” Will turned off the loudspeaker and brought the phone closer to himself again, “don’t know if you have noticed but- I have not, in fact, found a man.”
Mike let out a dry laugh. It had a hint of cruelty in it. But Will quickly brushed it off. Mike had let go of his teenage brutishness a long time ago. He was a father of a five-year-old now.
“You find plenty of men, Will. Rather… a plenty of men find you.”
Was there an accusation hidden there somewhere?
“Well, yeah… I guess?” Will fumbled around for the right words to form a suitable reply. “Thank you?”
Or,
It has been more than a decade. Will had assumed he would fall out of touch with Mike but he hadn't. Mike had changed and so had he. However, there are unfinished conversations yet to be had and wounds yet to be uncovered. Things come to a head at the Byers-Harrington Christmas party.

Mike finally starts getting his life together again just before they're all ready to leave after getting all of his feelings out into his writing and he goes to will for help in finishing it. Together they paint and write a new ending for the story whilst rediscovering themselves along the way.
