Summary
Eager for a change of scenery following a messy break-up, you accept a travel nursing contract in the emergency department of Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. You think this new job will be a soft place to land. However, you quickly find that you may have bitten off more than you can chew when you meet Dr. Michael Robinavitch, the protective, stubborn Chief Attending with misplaced Alpha instincts who treats the entire ED like his pack.
Robby never thought he would want an Omega, and frankly, it’s been a long time since he has been stable enough to care for one properly. You certainly aren’t looking to jump into anything after the disaster that was your previous relationship. There are plenty of reasons why the two of you ought to give each other a wide berth.
The only problem is…you can’t seem to stay away from each other. No matter how hard you try.

“Afraid not,” he smiled, tapping his sunglasses. He also pulled out a folded mobility cane to make his point.
“Oh,” Robby replied, dumbly. He didn't know what to say. He must have been out of it if he didn't question the pair of shades on a cloudy day.
“Are you alright? You sound upset.”
“I just had a shitty day. I'm sure the next one will be even worse,” he laughed, dryly.

He heard a rattling of the ladder as Dennis climbed down and paused on the last rung, looking at him awkwardly.
"Hi," Robby smiled.
Dennis looked like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar. "Hi," he echoed.
"Going somewhere?"He slowly tucked his fangs back into his gums and nodded, stunted and choppy. Twisting his hands awkwardly, he looked between the barn door and Robby.
"You can hunt, sweetness. Me and Jack don't mind. Just stay out of town, okay?"
Dennis shuffled his feet. His big eyes were red today, irises as bright as freshly spilled blood. They gave Robby a big, pleading look, like those of a puppy begging for scraps at the table.
Robby chuckled. "What is it, huh?" he asked gently, motioning for Dennis to come closer. "You want a chicken from the coop? Don't wanna hunt tonight?"

“You were in an accident. Please, listen to me. Get back on the bed.”
Dennis stills at that, giving him that same, blank look from before. Robby wants to shut his eyes. He never wants to see it again.
He tilts his head. “Accident?”
“You were—” Robby says, and doesn’t miss the desperation in his own voice. “I just told you. You were in an accident. Don’t you remember?”After an argument about Robby’s resignation from the Pitt, Dennis gets into a car crash that makes him unable to retain short-term memories. Including the fight they just had, and Robby’s imminent departure. It’s up to Robby to nurse him back to health, and choose which truth to tell him.
Or, Dennis gets anterograde amnesia.

Dennis feels drool pool into his mouth that has nothing to do with the day’s sunshine.
“God, Trinity.” He whispers, eyes raking over the visible coarse hair covering his forearms and the peak of tattoos on his biceps. Robby shifts on his feet and the curve of a belly illuminates his profile underneath the leather. Dennis thinks he may faint. “You never said he was so hot.”

The well-known quote Dennis murmured was somehow louder than any scream the two had heard in their entire lifetime.
They were both still, their breathing heavy, when Dennis straightened his back, hands bracing the edge of the counter as he glanced at Jack and Robby’s direction.
“I am the angry man in our house,” Dennis confessed, his smile sad, and the look in his eyes had the two on the cusp of crumbling to their knees.
OR Dennis Whitaker has a difficult time taking care of himself, including learning healthy coping mechanisms, leading him down a spiral. Robby and Jack—already interested in the medical student—decided it’s time they take things into their own hands.

Dennis learnt that being from a big family, when you were useful, people relied on you and wanted you around. He always kept the apartment tidy and offered to cook so Trinity would keep him living with her.
When Jack and Robby invited Dennis into their marriage, he knew he needed to stay useful so that they kept him around. The married couple had a lot of inside jokes and could read each other so easily. Every time Dennis felt left out, he cleaned something or completed a chore around their house.
It was never enough, he needed Jack and Robby, but they will never need him. Right?

After finishing medical school, you planned to specialise in cardiology. You had been born with a bad heart, and the hospital had been your second home growing up, so you thought you had known what to expect when you finally became a doctor.
You had been so very wrong.
And to make matters worse, everything you thought you knew about yourself was completely thrown off course by the incredibly talented and even better looking Doctors working in the Pitt.
As the hours go by, the professional boundaries between you and your coworkers start to disappear. Casual touches and lingering glances last longer than they should, and you seem to find yourself falling for your much older attendings and coworker.
I couldn’t choose between writing a fic about Robby, Abbot or Whitaker so I thought, why not all three…?
