In his absence, you've started taking care of yourself. Poorly. Very poorly. And you're so fucking stubborn, refuting his help. It makes his jaw hurt with how hard he clenches his teeth.
This night, though, this blessed, perfect night, you finally let him back in. You finally let him further. It's more than anything he could have ever dreamed. He should know better by now, but you make him so hopeless he can’t help himself. He knows good things for him never last.

Dimitri doesn’t do connections. He doesn’t do hobbies or nights out or dates. He works from home as a shitty project manager, goes to the gym at two in the morning, and is miserable all the time. Now that his parents and stepsister are gone, nothing else feels right.
But when his panic attacks and anxiety come to a head, his therapist suggests he take on a ‘tactile hobby’ to ground himself. Visual art is out of the question, too free-form. The idea that he might create something that says something about himself is petrifying. He needs an activity that has instructions attached. Woodworking? In his tiny apartment? Baking? He couldn’t taste it anyway. So that’s how Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd finds himself walking out of a craft store with a pair of size eight knitting needles and a cheap ball of yarn.
“This better fucking work.”
OR: Dimitri hits rock bottom, and the only way left to go is up.

She considered calling security and letting them take him to the hospital, but ended up taking it upon herself to ensure the stranger’s wellbeing. Now, he stood in the same room simultaneously brooding and staring intently at a dishwasher as if she hadn’t found him unconscious and impaled by archaic lances mere days ago. “You claim this thing washes dishes?”
Feral Dimitri gets thrown into the future and modern Byleth has to deal with him.

How can I compare to all that I’m not? To all that I shall never be.
Even if he has claimed his Blaiddyd birthright back, the lands were poor, mediocre. Surely, Seteth will see the better fruits that Ferdinand offers—an easier burden for Byleth’s heart and a greater opening for her to not dwell in duties foreign from that of the church’s. A comrade that has the necessary supplies to rebuild the church while being a dutiful lover that would never bring in challenges against her duties and ideals.
A dastard man that has the wit and beauty to keep Byleth satisfied.
