Arthur could see his father glaring down - face red and eyes narrowed as he looked at Merlin with clear distaste.
"Once this over, sorcerer...I’ll burn you."
"You’ve already tried that," Merlin’s voice answered and Arthur had to bite his fist to keep from making any noise. “You need to accept you can’t kill me… Hand me that blanket, please.”
“I’m sure there must be some method… Beheading?”
“No, we tried that.”
“Hanging?”
“I just sort of... Swung there, remember?”
There was another pause.
“I should have made you keep that dragon below the castle so I could feed you to it.”
“Kilgharrah? He won’t eat me, but if you want to torture me than making me listen to his nonsense for an hour might do it.” Merlin said and there was a soft sigh from the other end of the room. “I’m glad you agreed to help me though. Usually I have to do the grunt work of saving Arthur myself.”
“I can’t wait to kill you.”
Or
Uther finds out about Merlin’s magic, but can’t seem to kill him. Merlin is just trying to protect Arthur. They become a begrudgingly effective duo. Arthur doesn't understand why they think he isn't noticing this.

“Hey, give him a break, he’s going through a tough time,” Eret pointed out.
“That doesn’t give Tommy an excuse to be so rude,” Niki suddenly said, her voice now holding a sharp edge. “We’ve all been having a hard time, not just him.”
Eret sighed. “I know, it doesn’t, but Niki you know he went through something way worse than any of us ever have that night."
The table fell silent at that.
In a world where the Earth has been attacked by monstrous aliens known as kaiju for the past decade, the only hope lies in robotic giants called jaegers. To cope with the mental strain, jaegers must be piloted by two people who are connected by what is called the drift—a neural link where all thoughts, memories, and emotions are shared.
Tommy was one of the best pilots around. But after a tragic accident led to the death of his copilot, he was forced to take a mental health break, even though he's definitely recovered from what happened. It's just pissing him off that no one—not even Tubbo—seems to believe him. At least the new kid, Ranboo, seems nice.

Summary
Tommy knows the world is a dangerous place. It’s what adults say. But he can’t help but play ignorant. Maybe it’s because he’s seen true horrors in the adults who yell out for his family to be killed or the fact that he lives among the creatures that are so called “dangerous”. But he really doesn’t believe in the humans who left him to rot when he was merely a child.
He’s proven wrong when a chance encounter flips his life on it’s axis and he stares into fond red eyes for the first time. When those eyes don’t let him go, when they cress at the corners as the voice who said eyes belong to say “mine.” With so much danger it causes him to shiver.
When faced with the fangs that are going to take every last bit of humanity Tommy has left he knows he’s been ignorant, that his world is very much a dangerous place.
Tommy’s forced into a world of monsters and creatures at a young age but only earns a place in it at the ripe age of fifteen. He meets others like him, boys with brown and black and white hair to match. But also meets a man with long pink hair, who dares to steal him away from Wilbur, Eret and Fundy with nothing more then a sharp and toothy grin. All with the promise of being his one and only sire.
