And there is no stopping when there is always something to run from. But there's only so far to run from the ghosts that haunt them.

The stars fell from the sky upon a lonely desert planet. The world was made of blood, sand and broken glass - and later on, gunsmoke. What could have been a paradise had become a violent world, one of hard-bitten, traumatized survivors...
Including... the most unexpected.
Ship 3, the single ship of the SEEDS fleet that had remained intact, took victims into their medical facilities in droves from nearby ships that were not so lucky in the early days after the Big Fall. One of the heavily wounded that came in overnight after most of the searches were coming up empty would change everything.
Rem Saverem had survived the apocalypse.
A mix of all canons. Stampede for base-setting. Rem's characterization and much of the backstory are drawn from Trigun Maximum as I prefer that version of her to all others. There are some '98 elements for fun and to fill in details. Planned to end at the end of Stampede's timeline with a possible sequel, which is probably not going to faithfully follow Stargaze as I have established my own "canon" on this story.

Summary
It has been over 200 years since Nicholas D. Wolfwood died. The world has become a better place, people have progressed and the threat of humanity being annihilated by the hands of an extremist Plant cult is long gone like a certain someone always wanted it to be, that’s the kind of world Nicholas was born into again.
With all of the memories of his past life in his system, he can’t help but notice that his weird neighbor from 311 in the new building he moved into, looks awfully similar to a clown he used to know once. His smile seemed all too familiar and Nicholas' new problem is reminding himself that his neighbor is not who he thinks he is. It seems like an easy task, since his neighbor appears to be weirder than he remembers the other guy to be, however Nicholas could have never predicted the amount of effort that simple task would need. His neighbor was not faring any better anyways, if anything he might be doing worse.

The adrenaline was still pumping into his veins, the sun blinding him while he heard people cheering at the distance; everything in his body was focusing on this moment, in the heavy object in his hands, in the big smile in his face, in the tears running from his eyes his teeth biting his lips so hard to keep him from kneeling over by the raw joy that is making him shake. All the sacrifices, all the training, all the accidents and all the toll he put his family into, it was worth it in this very moment. He had made it.
He was on the podium, at the end of the season where he not only won the race but he got the points to be awarded the Drivers Championship, and now, in true Formula 1 fashion, the champagne was being sprayed by the other drivers.
Today Vash Savarem was the best Formula 1 driver and Stampede the best Constructor with only two seasons under their belt.

She slammed it shut and ran outside, balling her keys into a fist to feel the metal chew on her palm. Tearing into the night from city streets to dirt to sand and dunes. She didn’t care where she ended up so long as she got there fast and with her music blaring. She now sat in the driver's seat, staring at a white-hot monster padding around her jeep and inching closer with each circle.
