You can very clearly see the look of simultaneous horror on both Ollie and Dinah’s faces, over his shoulder—it’s a bracing kind of horrific cringe that they both bear, as though they were expecting this and hoping against hope for something else.
You look from them, back up to his face, that is clearly expecting you to say something. Waiting to see just exactly how you will respond to this heater coming towards you.
“I’d prefer to think of it as a time-share, if it’s all the same to you.” You reply as calmly as you can given the situation. “I feel like our relationship has a little more shelf life than that.”
