Jeongin takes his free hand and gropes her over her nightgown. His big hands cup her breast, thumb running over her nipple, making it peak under her shirt. He softly traces the necklaces she wears, one a silver rosary, the other a thick chain holding a pendant of Jesus on the cross. “I think you’re a test," he says.
“A test,” Hyunjin’s mouth forms the word. Her throat is so dry.
“A God-given test.” Jeongin smiles, squeezes her breast again.
“D-Don’t touch me,” she whispers. “Not there.”
“Why not?” He asks. “This is what you wanted, isn’t it, noona? I bet you pray for it. Ask me for forgiveness.”

He was currently face to face with a literal angel, and he was wearing an oversized t-shirt and sweats with a stain from his lunch on the knee. His hair was slightly frizzy from letting it air-dry and this man was the most beautiful man probably in the world.
That was new. Jeongin definitely wasn't homophobic, he was here in this apartment to celebrate his best friend's first gay relationship. But Jeongin had never felt this way about a man before. Surprisingly, this revelation wasn't as earth-shattering as he expected it to be when he first registered the thought. Honestly, Jeongin would be more shocked if he wasn't attracted to this actual Adonis.
"Umm… Are you gonna let me in or…?" The man spoke, jolting Jeongin out of his thoughts. He was shifting awkwardly, fiddling with the handle of the bag in his hand. Jeongin stepped out of the way to let him in.OR

“Because you’re human?” Jeongin asked, eyes flickering back to focus on the mortal’s face above him. He could get used to this, lying in the lap of a fragile being who didn’t fear him and who didn’t carry hatred in his heart. “Or because I'm a god?”
“No,” Hyunjin said with a sad smile. “Because this will be your downfall and I don’t want to see you fall from grace. I care too much for you to be able to bear the guilt of that… Besides, there is no point in loving the dead. You should focus on the living.”
Or, the tale of a man so beautiful even the gods grew envious and a fox who unfortunately lost his heart to the wrong one.

Changbin and Jisung's faces when they see him standing in front of them with a stranger clinging to him are worth taking a picture of to frame and hang in someone's house.
"I wasn't just gonna leave him alone in the bathroom," is the only explanation Jeongin offers, "Can one of you go grab him a glass of water?"
"Jesus Christ," Jisung says.
Jeongin meets Hyunjin at a New Year's Eve party and starts his 2021 by helping him find his friends. What initially starts as the good deed that will definitely grant Jeongin good karma to last for the rest of the year turns out quite differently than expected— One minute he's helping a guy stand in a dirty club bathroom, and the next said guy is dancing in his apartment with his brother-in-law. On his birthday.
Don't ask Jeongin. He doesn't know how it happened, either.

Ultimately, it doesn’t matter that he and Hyunjin used to build sand castles together, or that Hyunjin saved him from hypothermia when they went hiking in Siberia. It doesn’t matter that Jeongin was the first boy Hyunjin ever kissed, or that Hyunjin was the first boy he ever kissed.
All that matters is that Hyunjin is an agent of the Lions of Tranquility. He’s an enemy. He should be treated just like any other.
The problem is, he is an enemy who knows Jeongin better than he knows himself.
Or: Hyunjin and Jeongin were best friends, allies in hunting for artifacts that could end humanity as they know it. Now, Hyunjin is their enemy's top treasure hunter. The fate of the world is in his hands even when the Stones of Calamity aren't. Maybe Jeongin's heart is, too, even after all this time.
