Summary
A story of imperfect motherhood...
This is a fic that is heavily inspired/build upon the AU stories written by @sundaisies (up until about Chapter 7-8). I highly recommend you read her series ("You are Flesh and Blood and Deserve to be Loved") before these. They're excellent and it gives a lot more backstory as to how they developed a relationship, and how they're here now.
This story starts post-rescue after Hannah takes Natalie back to the US from the hospital in Canada where she was for a few months recovering from near starvation and Shauna shooting her. In this AU, Hannah also has custody of Alex.
If you want to send messages, requests, etc. Feel free to reach out on tumblr @leoluki36.
Enjoy!

Summary
“Sheesh. What reason does she have to stock up this much?”
Shauna rolls her eyes. She’s used to Jackie taking the piss at Taissa for all the bickering they do together, but it’s taken directions she doesn’t like much ever since Tai presented at the start of senior year. “I literally have the same amount of sups with me. It’s Nationals regulations to have an extra full dosage on hand,” Shauna says. “Didn’t Coach have you read the folder?”
Jackie does her pout-shrug combo. “I got one but it felt kinda pointless, you know. Doubt I’ll swing any one way at this point. You beat me to that fair and square, Shipman.”or

Summary
“No one else is here,” Nat says. “Now, mind telling me why you’re acting so weird? What’s with the secrecy?”
Shauna gives in, letting go of her tense stance with a shrug to her shoulders. She bites her lower lip lightly. “I have a favor to ask you.”
Nat gives a pointed look as if to say spit it out already.
Shauna sighs roughly and closes her eyes for a moment, as if preparing herself for what she’s about to say.
“I need you to date Misty. Or at least pretend to.”
When Jackie’s parents tell her that she isn’t allowed to date anyone until Misty Quigley does, Shauna decides to take drastic measures.

Summary
Jackie Taylor has collected many labels over the twenty-two years of her relatively short life: daughter, friend, girlfriend, Yellowjacket, teammate, captain, plane crash survivor, Scarlet Knight, Tri-Delt. Now, only a handful of weeks after adding college graduate to her resumé, she can call herself a homeowner.
Freshly minted Rutgers graduate Jackie Taylor returns to Wiskayok to buy a house with her boyfriend. It could use some work, but what couldn’t?
Not to worry, though. Nat Scatorccio knows a guy.

“Alright, I hope you feel bette-“
She’s cut off when a warm, clammy hand grabs her wrist. She looks down at Misty, who’s looking at her with big, sad eyes. Her hair is sticking to her forehead, heavy eye bags and the girl just looks like absolute shit. It makes Nat feel kinda bad for her.
“C-could you stay, just for a while? I’m so sick of being alone.”
And Misty seems so sincere, so vulnerable when she says that.

Summary
Jackie Taylor died in 1996.
She shouldn’t be here. Not now. Not in 2021.
The world moved on without her. Her story ended in the snow, her name written into history as one of the lost. She was supposed to stay that way.
Because the dead don’t come back.
And yet—here she is.

“I’m sorry, Jackie. I’m sorry, I—“
“I’m your Coach, sweetheart.”
Jackie doesn’t even think about the words; they come out stern, as firm as the open palm she plants between Shauna’s shoulder blades to stop her squirming, and Jackie hates herself for them immediately.
Not enough to stop, though.
