Summary
Neil tries to run out but the once wide, open door is replaced by a wall of person. His full body slams into this stranger because of how fast he was moving and how little he was paying attention, which winds up with them both on the floor. Neil recovers quickly and is on his feet in a split second. The distractingly attractive stranger with dirty blonde hair and striking blue eyes looks incredibly disoriented, and reasonably so, as to why they are on the floor.
Or What starts as a chance meeting due to the chaos of Neil Perry leads to the development of relationships that leave them wondering how they ever survived without the other before.
Or Todd knitted sweaters under a leather jacket Anderson and his boyfriend Neil soft hoodies under a denim jacket Perry

Neil knew, better than anyone, that Todd Anderson was special. Ethereal, even. He was warm and earnest and gentle in a school that, most days, was more excrement than excellent.
It should have come as no surprise when someone else seemed to come to that same realisation.
It was fine. Todd deserved the recognition. Neil wasn’t jealous.
Not at all.

And there - ardent under the glow of the stage lights and modelled, delicately porcelain, with piercing and loving and impassioned gaze making the distance all the way across the theatre, with slight but sturdy frame taking beautiful, unreal inhales from his chest and with each exhale the stale air shivered, yawped - there was the vulnerability that Todd had been so desperately missing.
Neil enters Todd's life again, after seven excruciating years, and between memories of the past and present, Todd can't decide whether it's a good thing, or not.

It's a foolish thought, really. Because if Todd wanted him he wouldn't push him away time and time again. Kissing and cuddling and having Neil like he's his. But never close enough for it to be mistaken for love.
