Jayce was a man prone to obsession.
This wasn’t news to him, or anyone that spent longer than a few hours in his presence. It showed in the topics of conversation he somehow always circled back to; the endless stretches of time he spent in the lab harnessing magic. The fact of the matter was, once Jayce got hooked on something, it was incredibly difficult for him to let it go.
Which was unfortunate, considering the current subject of his fixation was making Viktor squirt.

Viktor gave Jayce a few more minutes before grabbing his cane and hauling himself to his feet. The light was on under the bathroom door when he reached it, and he cautiously rapped his knuckles against the wood. “Jayce? Are you alive in there?”
He heard a groan from the other side. “Unfortunately.”
“Is something wrong?”
There was a long, somewhat concerning pause before Jayce replied. “I, uh. I got my period.”

Jayce mentally cycled through the lines he’d tried out in the mirror that morning. They weren’t all bad, were they? At the very least, some of them had to be partially salvageable.
“Hey, Viktor.” Okay. Good start.
Viktor glanced up from the runes he was carefully carving into metal. “Yes?”
“Go out with me.”
Jayce wanted to smack himself. That was not what he’d practiced! Gods, he must sound like such a presumptuous jerk. He floundered for a second, mouth opening and closing a few times as he tried to come up with some way to salvage the situation.
