It’s then that Eddie’s hands stutter to a halt, palms pressed to the soft flesh of Buck’s belly. Blinking foggily, Buck catches Eddie’s line of sight, to the way his gaze has drifted to the very noticeable bulge in Buck’s sweats.
“Fuck,” whispers Buck hurriedly, a fiery dose of humiliation and shame washing over him. His heart thumps miserably beneath his ribcage, and he swallows against a swell of nausea. “Fuck, I— I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”
Buck looks up again in time to catch Eddie’s eyes, now trained on Buck’s warm face.
God, Eddie’s not even doing anything, and Buck’s about to bust. He’s— he’s on a hair trigger, like he’s sixteen again.
After a too-long moment, Eddie clears his throat. Almost whispering, he says, “It’s okay. It happens. It’s… pain receptors; your body is just… you’re in overdrive. Adrenaline. It’s normal.”

Summary
Naim has almost forgotten what it's like to feel those cruel hands around his throat. It’s so lightning fast, so strong, it actually shoves the breath from his lungs like a pastry roller, flattening his body from the feet up. He flails uselessly as he chokes, clawing at its forearm. Not-Ryan smiles at him, a detached, empty thing, dragging its eyes up and down Naim’s prone body, before it does something it has never done before. It flips him over onto his stomach and starts clawing at his belt.
In the few months since they leave Bandee, Ryan and Naim experience a youth shelter, a birthday, and several hard weeks out on the street. The entity goes through its own evolutions, too.

Naim only had a creased twenty in his wallet when he got out of his mother’s car, the rest is Ryan’s, crumpled bills he’s been nicking from his parents for ages now. Meant for what, “I don’t even know,” he admitted sheepishly, exhaustion bleeding from his eyes, “Maybe for this.”
Ryan sits on the yellowing laminate floor of the bathroom while Naim showers, visible the entire time through the hard water build up clouding the shower curtain a milky white. He lends Naim a pair of clean underwear to wear, navy boxer briefs that match the bruises spotting Naim’s body, all the places that thing slammed into him, and held him down, and hurt him—
“I don’t have any clothes.” Naim says stupidly to the blurry outline of Ryan moving behind the shower curtain when it’s his turn.

Ilya Rozanov suggests to Shane that he would be okay with Shane seeing other men while they are apart, on the road, if he wanted to. Shane reacts poorly and the subsequent fight and issues this causes is more of a problem than Ilya expected. He wishes he could take it back.
OR- A slightly longer look into that part of The Long Game when Ilya suggests this. I always wanted it to have a plot, instead of a few paragraphs. So here it is.

"That smell, I know that smell." Ilya is visibly confused but his pupils have dilated slightly, his body catching on before his brain can catch up. "Is that—? What are you wearing?"
"It's just cologne. I thought that's what people did before this kind of thing." Shane puts his hands in his pockets and tries to look casual. He is absolutely not going to laugh at the bewildered look on Ilya's face.
"What kind of thing? What are you talking about?"
"You know. Before meeting up like this." He swallows. Squares his shoulders. "I mean, I gave you my room number. I told you I wasn't a chicken."
He can pinpoint the exact moment that it clicks into place for Ilya what is happening. His mouth falls open. "You… it's— Hollander," he exhales. His eyes have gone almost entirely black and his breathing is ragged.
Shane leans back against the door and tilts his chin down, looking up at Ilya through his eyelashes. "This is such a bad idea."

Scent is a pretty strong memory trigger. Shane finds the cologne he wore the night they first met up in Room 1410, and decides a do-over might be fun.
