Summary
Cas Milton is really good at managing things.
He managed being abandoned as a child and then placed in an abusive home. He managed his adoptive father going to prison when his aunt and godmother finally surfaced. And now, at twenty-five, he’s managing going to college and while working the graveyard shift at Chaney’s 24-Hour Laundromat in the icy town of Leadville, Colorado.
Life is manageable until one night a man covered in blood shows up at the laundromat, and instead of calling the police, Cas decides to handle it himself. Except this guy, one Dean Winchester, can’t exactly be handled. Against all odds, he and Cas form an unsteady friendship, and for once, Cas has someone to talk to about everything he’s managing.
The only problem?
Cas doesn’t really know who Dean is. And as it turns out, he doesn’t really know himself, either.

Before he even opens his eyes he can feel the throbbing sensation in his head, damn near matching up with the throbbing in his ankle with every spike. When he cracks open his eyes he realizes he’s laying face down on the map table and when he turns his head he’s met with a needle, a tissue crunchy with dried blood, and a broken pen. The ink from the pen is spilling out of it on to the tray beneath it, smudged in a few places, but surprisingly still wet.
“What the hell.” He rasps and his ankle gives a responding twitch of pain. It’s a tender, itchy feeling.
It almost reminds him of when he got his anti possession tattoo.

Summary

Then his brother quit hunting to set up the Men of Letters bunker and Cas decided that he had better things to do, and Dean’s perfect life shattered.
Two years later, Dean moves from hunt to hunt and tries not to remember everything he’s lost. It’s not a great existence, but he’s managing. At least, that’s what he thinks. Then he takes a job at a resort in South Carolina, where he sees a familiar face. Forced to fake a relationship with Cas in order to work the case, Dean has to battle his own emotions as well as suspicious employees, and a growing threat from within the resort. Something evil is there, and it might not wait until Dean and Cas figure out their feelings for each other before it acts.
