Summary

The solution presented is simple: wed an accomplished Jedi to a member of Mandalorian aristocracy. Knight Ahsoka Tano is selected for the honour and finds herself presented to the Mand'alor.
Her padawan, Luke, is brought along for the journey.

Summary
As it turns out, no one ever taught Luke how to tie a little green baby to his back one-handed, but Luke thinks he's pretty gods-damned good at problem-solving under pressure, thank you, and the baby is at least semi-cooperative. When he's sure the kid is strapped in as tight as he can get, Luke pauses, and reaches back. His fingers graze the wide point of the baby's fuzzy ear. "Well, kid," says Luke, and his voice is a little rough, but not bad, all things considered. "Carrying you on my back while getting the absolute banthashit kicked out of me, at least this feels familiar."
The baby coos in his ear, and then kicks him hard in the kidney. Yoda used to do the exact same thing. Somehow, it's a lot more endearing now.
Or: Luke Skywalker solves a number of life-or-death problems, makes some new friends, falls abruptly in love, and gets shot into space, all in the same day.

This is basically an Accidental Warlord Din Djarin fic in which Din plays the role of reluctant DILF leader with a heart of gold and Luke plays the role of initially distrusted twink who quickly becomes beloved by all (especially said warlord). The Mandalorians are like, "we've only had Luke Skywalker for a day and a half but if anything happened to him I would kill everyone in this room and then myself."

He just needed to see that Shane was okay, the minute he could lay eyes on the other man he’d be pulled back up, and he would be okay again. It was with a shaking fist that he knocked on the door, and he said a silent prayer to his mother that it would be Shane that answered.
Ilya and Shane play rough and Ilya drops a few hours after Shane leaves. So he risks it all to go to his hotel to seek comfort. Hayden Pike is also there....and he can't quite believe it.

Deft and smart with the characterization, no internal monologs over explaining motivations or over wrought with emotion - a collection of clean little details, choices, behaviors that trust the reader to interpret the implications and see the whole vivid picture being painted. Exemplifies my favorite show-don't-tell prose style and feels very lived in, like watching the show.
