    Summary

[Written before Through the Looking Glass Ruins so it's spoiler-free]

“Gus, my man, this party is sooo boring. Do you want to just go somewhere else?”
“This is my birthday party. Also, how’d you get in my house?”

Mattholomule decides Gus' birthday party isn't up to snuff (actually he's just bored) and takes him on a trip around Bonesborough instead in an attempt to one-up it. Chaos ensues as they terrorize the town. It's fun, and barely anyone gets hurt.

    Summary

Gus might have seen the real Mattholomule that day. Someone who felt weak and small but needed someone else to look even weaker and smaller. He saw less of the jerk who would gladly endanger someone else for his own entertainment and more as a kid desperate for some semblance of being special and important.

So, that day in the Looking Glass Graveyard, Gus decided that Mattholomule was going to become special to him.

    Speaking of Mattholomule. . .

    Summary

“We’ve gotta stop anyone who wants to rob the Looking Glass Graveyard, dead or alive,” Gus said, pumping his fist cheerfully.

Mattholomule’s lips pressed into a fine line and shook his head silently.

“Traumatized or alive,” Gus corrected with an equally cheerful fist pump.

    ////////////

Gus and Mattholomule begin to bond as they rebuild the graveyard, getting closer bit by bit. They might even be friends now, at least that's what Gus insists they are. Mattholomule isn't really sure how comfortable he is with that label.

One day, Gus decides to teach Mattholomule the wonders and joys of human high-fives.

    Summary

“One bound to fate, a little witch has lost their way, for backwards time has turned once more, as the record shows a changing score. For once they’ve found their feet again, the little witch must find their friends, but will they take the call for fame or make a fool of their family name?”

    Or

Mattholomule wasn’t a complicated witch, not in his opinion atleast. Atleast, not until the Day of Unity. With the Draining Spell done and the collectors spies spying, he and Jerbo had been out near the tide near the side towers, practicing spells when Matt had been pushed through a time pool by a large blast just before the tide came in. Oddly enough, the magic seemed to stick him in his past body instead of by himself separately.

Stuck in the past for the foreseeable future, with no knowing what repercussions it could have on the future, he might as well try to actually figure out what he’s trying to do, right?

    Addition -

I know this isn’t how time pools work but I genuinely don’t care, I’m bored as hell and writing a fanfiction to deal with my Gustholomule drought.

    Summary

"I notice you tend to do that." Gus said, leaning down and opening his bag.

He reached inside and pulled out a lunch bag, which killed the complaint rising on Mattholomule's tongue. "Luckily, I swiped something before I got here, because I predicted your idiocy!"
    ---
Gus and Mattholomule go to the graveyard, as is routine at this point, to help think up more plans to defend it. They take a break partway through for food.
