However, while following a string of murders, he finds himself afflicted with a strange disease that may cost him more than he can bear. It will be up to those dearest to him to save his AI from total collapse...if he doesn't work himself to death in pursuit of this complex case.

These shorter pieces largely deal with Grimmer's struggles with his emotions, the struggles of his wife trying to make the best of a slowly failing relationship, and the aftermath and understanding reached after all is done.

Summary
Monster/Ajin crossover AU. In modern Germany, Grimmer is an Ajin who has suffered in the system for countless years, and Tenma is a doctor slowly coming into awareness of the horrible treatment of Ajins. Acting on his idealistic impulses, Tenma rescues his Ajin friend and together they embark on an attempted rescue of the other Ajins still in captivity.
