Dream Come True by NoelleHolidayStanAccount (TerminalMiraculosis)
Fandom Deltarune (Video Game)
04 Jul 2023
Summary
A continuous series of fics about Noelle’s growing romance with Susie, her tumultuous relationship with her family, and eventually the fate of the world, diverging from Deltarune Chapter 2. Starts light and fluffy, and gets more dark and serious as it unfolds. The first five fics each represent an arc in a single serialized narrative, and should be read in order.

Summary
“Madman,” the priest stutters hoarsely, his grey mane whipped by the furious wind. “You will doom us all.”
“Then doomed we shall be.”
Achilles turns to the sea. It churns angrily far below him, as if in answer to him.
“Until they bring back my beloved, they are no gods of mine.”
After the loss of Patroclus, Achilles commits such blasphemy that the gods deny him the right to die. He wanders the Earth for centuries, trying to find his beloved again.
But when he does, his love doesn’t remember him.

Summary
Hedonist that he is, Lestat has never particularly cared to be held to the constraints of a schedule. Louis may enjoy the routine and predictability of something as prosaic as the requirements of managing a business–one of his many little idiosyncrasies that Lestat simultaneously enjoys and is frequently irritated by–but for him? Non. He can enjoy the artistry of a well-planned ball or the satisfaction of a business deal well-struck, but he’s always enjoyed the freedom of not quite knowing what’s coming next. In a long, long life, it’s far too easy to fall into a rut and find oneself constrained to it for decades before noticing.
Even with his taste for surprise, however, Louis holding out a tiny, sooty, sniffling child is a shock he is not best pleased by.
He flicks his eyes up from the big-eyed, dripping moppet, raising a brow and feeling his lip curl slightly in distaste. The child reeks of smoke and fear and God only knows what else.
“Put it back,” he says flatly.
(AU based on the idea of Louis finding Claudia at the age of five like in the book but raising her until she's old enough to be changed) (marked complete because each chapter can stand alone but will be updated)

Summary
Apocalypses and world in ruins, deceased remains of humans who run the world and eat brains. Just human-made stories whose purpose is to entertain more than half of the world population of 8 billion.
But that's all it is, fiction and entertainment.
Not reality, never a reality.
Well, that's what people back in the day used to say. Now all that is left is the world in debris, ruined cities and flesh-eating monsters you pray to never encounter face to face.

Summary
“There is more to him than this war,” Patroclus says ardently, voice pointed and noticeably louder. Achilles does not even stir.
Odysseus shakes his head, ignorant, and he stretches his arms out lazily. Maybe he is only drunk. Maybe they both are.
“There might’ve been.”
“There might’ve been if not for you.”

Summary
Behind him, footsteps. And a voice says, “You’re the shoemaker?”
There is a moment where Patroclus only has the impression of gold—golden curls resting against broad tanned shoulders and a gold circlet hidden in his hair—before separate features emerge to create the image of a prince, finely albeit simply dressed in a white shirt tucked into a pair of dark blue pants.
“The shoemaker’s apprentice,” Patroclus corrects him gently. He bows just a little. Green eyes watch as he does. “I’m here to take some measurements. For your new—” His eyes fall on the prince’s feet and the words die in his throat. He’s wearing a heavy wooden shoe on his left foot and a cloth slipper on the other. Patroclus tries to take it in stride but finds himself looking questioningly at the prince.
“You are curious about my shoe,” the prince says. His voice is perfectly steady, unreadable.
In the tiny kingdom of Phthia, a golden prince is cursed with invulnerability except for a vulnerable heel. An exile apprenticed to a shoemaker is commissioned by the palace to create a shoe the prince can fight in.
A fairy tale about a curse, a magical shoe, a war, a doomed hero, an exile, destiny, and love despite everything.

Summary
"It is not that he hasn’t heard poetry before — he’s listened to orators, heard tales woven by storytellers who entertain the masses at gatherings — but poetry is a lifeless thing until he hears it from Achilles. Suddenly it is no longer just words but a thing that breathes, gasps, sucking the air out of their shared room. Patroclus is helpless to do anything but feed it with a heaving chest."
Achilles introduces Patroclus to poetry over their years together.

The problem is, he can't think of a way to solve this. He is good at avoiding his problems, but he's just as good at finding creative solutions. Traveling in disguise, lying, getting alarmingly naked as a distraction, more lying—he's gotten quite good at this over the years.
But it's Achilles and Patroclus.

Summary
“I hear you killed a child.”
Patroclus looked up, wary. The boy crossing the garden to the olive tree Patroclus sat beneath had hair the colour of ripened wheat and skin like pale, fine sand. Younger than Patroclus but already just as tall, Achilles was rumoured to be half Nereid, half human. He looked altogether human, though, which had been a bit of a disappointment. Patroclus had been expecting at least scales or blue hair. Something.
“I did,” Patroclus said, keeping his tone even. It wouldn’t do to break down before a stranger. Myrmidons weren’t meant to be ruled intensely by emotions like regret. “Lyseon was a childhood friend, the son of a retainer.”

Summary
“Patroclus,” he says, and he sounds on the verge of tears. Pa-tro-clus. Each sound has its own syllable, not clumsy and strung together like the technician or the salesman. He pulls back, looks over every inch of Patroclus, his green eyes wide and shining. “Are you alright? Are you okay?”
Peleus steps forward. “Achilles, son, don't crowd the poor thing. It was only just–”
“He.” Achilles corrects sharply. His eyes leave Patroclus's face only to glare at his father. “He. Not it. He's a person.”
He, Patroclus thinks. He. He's a person. A switch in his processing, in his thought. The LED ring in his forehead swirls, blue into flickering yellow into blue again. It–he–isn't a person, he knows. But if it will comfort Achilles to say so, then Patroclus will oblige.
----
Or, the d:bh-inspired au where Patroclus is an android bought to keep Achilles out of trouble. His memories have been corrupted beyond repair, and a close relationship is ripped back to square one, much to Achilles's dismay. But those memories are all that Patroclus is, and restoring them could be the key to--or the end of--everything.

Summary
Achilles turns to look at Patroclus, his brow drawn and eyes impossibly wide. The sun catches on his face, pouring down like honey. It makes his dark eyes rich in depth, catching on the lighter hues in his hair. Achilles can see the scar above his eyebrow, paler than his skin, where he’d fallen from their favorite climbing tree as kids. Achilles had held him with blood on his fingers and realized that it would always be like that, he would never let Patroclus go, even if it stained his hands. Achilles loves him so much, it’s raw and without reason. Achilles has never known not loving him.
