Summary
Princess Yasmin Khan had been raised knowing two things.
The first, is that the war will never end.
However when that was proven wrong, she learnt the second: That one day she will be the wife of the living Goddess of Gallifrey.
To most people, the first was no longer relevant, a memory of knowledge now shifted to victory or defeat depending on where you kept your feet.
To Yaz it became all the more relevant when she realised the meaning of the second.

"I realized something," Yaz starts.
"And what's that?" Jace asks.
"I always fancied it, you know," She fiddles with the ring on her index finger; feels it make an indent on her skin. "A gap year. Finding myself. Never really did it. I was too focused on uni. But I'd like to. With you."
Something flashes across Jace’s face. Her eyes light up. “Yasmin Khan, are you propositioning me?”
Yaz tilts her head. Grins a little. “So what if I was?”
Yaz is an up-and-coming investigative journalist with UNIT. Only all her coworkers, save for two, hates her guts. Same old, same old. When she's assigned to write a puff piece on the Division, it leads her onto a trail of shady inventions and a disgraced inventor by the name of Jace Smith. Which would be fine, really, if Yaz hadn't met Jace in a pub all those months ago and began seeing her secretly. Nothing can ever be that simple, can it?

He said gesturing to the woman who was supposedly Dr. Mckay. Victoria had the same feeling she had the other night of being struck by lightning, although this one was a mix of surprise and feelings of attraction. Because there stood the drummer from last night. She looked about as shocked as Victoria did, her eyes wide and her mouth slightly agape, her signature choppy bangs framing her face beautifully like they did last night. Victoria reluctantly trotted over to Mckay, still in utter shock.
"Hi."
"Hey, nice to .. um"
Mckay began to introduce herself but froze, they had already met before, last night.

“I’m, like… twice your age.” Cassie huffs out a chuckle as she takes another sip of her drink, eyes never leaving Victoria.
Victoria would say it’s because she’s drunk, her brain a half-second behind her mouth, “That’s hot, no?”
Cassie barks out a laugh, leaning forward against the bar, enough to catch others' attention. The sound is loud, unguarded, wolfish at best and Victoria can’t seem to look away, not from the crinkles at the corners of her eyes.
When the laughter dies down, Cassie exhales, elbow sliding onto the bar as she props her cheek in her palm, taking another languid sip.
Victoria isn’t embarrassed however, because even through her tipsy-haze, she can make out the faint flush along Cassie’s cheekbones, something that definitely wasn’t there before.
“No,” Cassie says.
Then, after a moment of silence, their eyes still locked, Cassie continues, “It’s dangerous.”

Cassie laughs. She shakes her head, standing straighter and looking at Victoria. She also does the glance thing, what does she see?
Victoria stomach hurts. Why does her stomach hurt right now?
It's like an awful jittery feeling and cramping. She feels nervous for some reason. Her heart is beating like her life is in danger. What's up with that?
Is it because Cassie is a mom? She knows she has issues but not that extreme. There's no way that's the case. Cassie seemed friendly in the messages and right now. Victoria means to ask what hospital she works at, but the pounding in her chest makes her forget it that quickly.
- Victoria Javadi hooks up with the mom of the kid she's babysitting, realizes she's a lesbian, and then has a breakdown when she starts her ER rotation at the Pitt. All in the span of a few months.
