And then he flew past her as he launched himself off the ship.
And then, after punching two pilots out of the sky, jumped back as if nothing had happened, as if he wasn’t covered in blood, and as if his gloves weren't bitten off to reveal heavily scarred knuckles.
Van Chapman prided herself on not being easily shaken, and she wasn’t. It was just—surprising.
She didn’t really know this kid at all.

Really, Adaine, I can’t imagine you tumbling around with those martial classes,” she said in a tone that said she absolutely could imagine Adaine in that situation. “I really don’t understand how you can be so entertained by him. He’s dreadfully obtuse.”
Adaine clenched her hand into a fist and debated how long she would be grounded for if she stabbed her sister. “He’s––” Kind, wonderful, brave, awesome. Arianwen leveled a heavy look at her. This was a test, then. “Useful. Nicer than you anyway. We study together.”
The jab meant nothing, no one in her family had ever been nice, as far as Adaine knew. But Mother’s lip twitched, not into a smile, never a smile for Adaine, but pleased enough for Adaine to know she passed.

It's weird, really-- that Izuku would know him blind, that Izuku would know him at the end of the world-- but when Izuku turns the corner and sees Katsuki at the stove, everything settles. The war, and the villains, and the ghosts, and the tomorrows all fall as if into dreaming. Now, the only ones awake are Izuku and Katsuki at this godawful hour.
Izuku drags himself closer to the stove. His feet fall loud and deliberate into a silence broken only by the pot's cooking so that when Izuku comes to stand by Katsuki's side, he doesn't flinch.

Bakugo has the habit of cooking things at atrociously early hours. Midoriya has the habit of waking up hungry at oddly late hours. These two facts are related.
