Summary
Fringilla decides the best way to make a tortured Bard spill where Geralt of Rivia would take his Child of Surprise is to dive into his head and create illusions. When two bastards stumble into his cell and break him out he understandably believes that they are a figment of his imagination. He keeps his cards as close to his chest as a talkative Bard possibly could as they drag him to what they assure him is a safe place. After all, why would Julian know all that Jaskier does about Kaer Morhan?
Meeting Lambert at Rosie's Tavern at the base of the Blue Mountains he lets half of the cards tumble in the presence of the Wolf Witcher. They grow closer as the four of them trudge up the mountain and meet with the other Wolves in the keep, where he is a trusted member until three weary travelers arrive one morning and cause his cards to go flying.

Almost of its own volition, Geralt's hand passed across the bard's eyes and twisted into the sign, and when he barked "Axii!", what he really meant was, take all pain from him.
The familiar chime of his medallion was loud in the silence that followed. Jaskier relaxed entirely, his eyes flickering shut, and for one horrible moment Geralt thought he'd killed him.

Summary
A bard is in Kaer Morhen and Lambert has no idea what to make of him, even after Jaskier invites himself with Lambert and Eskel to hunt monsters and get new material for his songs. Any expectations Lambert had are shattered when Jaskier gets hurt and reveals exactly what happened with a certain fire mage.
Or, Jaskier lies about being able to fight with a sword and it goes about as well as you would expect when monsters, Lambert and a lot of trauma are involved -

Lambert sat back in his chair and picked up his drink. He sipped at it unconcernedly, seemingly oblivious to the calculating stare he was being levelled with. Geralt looked away from him, gaze back on the fire. When the air of wariness started to seep out of his countenance, Lambert broke in again:
"Say, Geralt," he remarked, in a chipper tone. "How's your bard?"
Geralt tensed up in a millisecond.
"My bard," he repeated, turning back to Lambert and levelling him with a stare. It was the kind of look which would send any sane person running away screaming. Lambert just smiled.
After stumbling into Jaskier on their way to Kaer Morhen, Lambert and Eskel confront Geralt.
