Colby’s dark eyes gleamed as he smirked over his shoulder. “C’mon, Sam, keep up! You’re walking like an old man.”
Sam shot him a look, his face reddening. “I’m not slow, you’re just acting like a psycho.”
Colby snorted but didn’t respond, instead leading the way deeper into the woods. It wasn’t long before they came upon the fence. Tall and metal, with faded yellow signs reading KEEP OUT and DANGER, it loomed in front of them like some kind of forbidden gateway.
Colby’s grin widened. “Well, well, what do we have here?” He crouched down, inspecting the small hole at the base of the fence. It was just wide enough for a person to shimmy through.
“Colby, don’t even think about it,” Sam said, folding his arms.
Colby tilted his head, an exaggerated expression of mock innocence crossing his face. “Think about what? Going in? Exploring a little?” He dropped onto his stomach and slid halfway through the hole. “C’mon, Sam, don’t be a loser.”

This was meant to be a much shorter story, but got completely out of hand.
