Nishimura Riki didn’t cry. Or at least that’s what he tried to tell himself as he stared down at the blank screen on his phone during dance practice.
Riki used to cry a lot, but now he was taller, older, and more emotionally mature. So long were the days when he would cry on stage about missing his family, the days when he would fold himself up in the arms of the members who had become his second family.
No. Now Riki was bordering on being twenty years old, and he didn’t cry.

Niki is very good at enduring.
He endures the pressure. He endures the whispers. He endures the hands that grip too tight and the expectations that press even tighter.
By the time the cameras catch him breaking, it’s almost too late.
The scandal burns hot. His old pack insists nothing is wrong. Niki, terrified, shaking, exhausted finally asks for somewhere else to go.
Enhypen wasn’t meant to be more than a temporary refuge.
They definitely werent supposed to become his safe place. They weren’t supposed to notice the flinches, the overworking. But they did.Also just me finding an excuse to write Riki ot7 angst, that somehow ended up being nearly 40k words💀

Summary

As Riki starts struggling behind the scenes, so bad he nearly gives up, an unexpected opportunity gives him a new friend, someone he feels safe around, and a group of people to call family.

Summary
Everyone has an image in their head of their perfect self, and that embodiment doesn't have any flaws, never asks for help, doesn't make any mistakes, and certainty doesn't have any mental health problems because a person like that isn't perfect, and that's what everyone wants, right? To be perfect? But nobody’s perfect. In the world’s eyes Nishimura Riki is one of the many people who is the embodiment of perfection; he’s talented, has a pretty face, always had good grades in school, always smiles, and is a funny guy. Everyone has such high expectations for him, and he is focused on living up to them, but living up to people’s expectations can be draining, and Riki is no different. But he knows how to handle himself; he had to work in such an unforgiving industry as he did. So when Riki finds himself struggling, he tries to fix it himself because he’s the light of Enhypen, and he can't fail them or the world when everyone is expecting so much of him.
